The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Ryedale Yorkshire and The Humber

It was a Monday afternoon, and the market was closing up. We arrived in Pickering to find nearly all the eateries closed. We went to Capplemans almost by default, but what a lovely surprise. We ordered three meals - the staff were excellent. Fantastic food. This is not just a fish and chip shop. This is good food. It is also at a reasonable price. The vegan options were as good as the other meals. The crispy batter on the vegan sausage a revelation. I had two fish cakes, full of flavour and a small portion of chips- which defeated me. We also ordered the sea food platter, which delighted being full of 5 or 6 varieties of fish. Finally, a good drinks menu. This is a wonderful place, care is taken over every aspect of the menu, drinks and service.

We went to the restaurant as a family of 6. I used to go every year but I moved away. We really enjoyed the meal and the staff were so lovely. I would reccomend this restaurant and if you go early you get a discount.

Worst fish and chips ever, clearly the oil needs changing as the batter on the fish was dark brown. Not the best taste. Would’ve returned it but live out of town.
