Nawton Green Fisheries in Ryedale

Excellent cod , chips and chat from the charismatic owner. Ordered early and nipped to the pub and back. Will obviously return to both. Even went out of his way to make more mushy peas for us. Better than what London has to offer!

Visited whilst on holiday in July. Nice fish and chips. Although there are raisins in the curry sauce. Not for us. Good peas.

I called into this Fish and Chip shop on Friday 4/6/21, after a long day walking with my wife around Helmsley and the Food was Excellent and the service from the staff was very good, this is just the 2nd time I have been to the area in 5 years and on both occasions, EXCELLENT!

Very interesting lady serves, man is the fryer. We stopped for two fish suppers and we're looking forward to it given the 5 star rating. Chips were soggy and greasy, the batter was soggy too, but peel off and the fish was..just ediblet. We are used to fresh fish and dry chips at home so this was a big disappointment. Maybe it was an off day but won't be back

I called in on the way home from Pickering for fish cake and chips. I have to say the food was lovely. Great customer service. Definitely recommend this place

Stopped on way home to Whitby from Helmsley. Excellent fish and chips, lovely lady and man serving and frying. Will come back again for sure. Thoroughly recommended.

Stopped for fish & chips here and was cooked as we waited, if you want entertainment whilst waiting for food this is the place to go. The proprietor’s have a natural banter between each other and they like to share this with you. Next time I’m passing I’ll not only drop in for the food but the entertainment.

Go here every week for fish and chips , lovely people plenty of banter and food cooked to order and nothing is not to much trouble , only thing i could criticise is do away with plastic containers.

Friendly service, quality fish and chips as it says on the sign. Service a bit slow but worth the wait.

Staying at campsite (Wrens) in village so we rang through our order (we were driving back from Pickering) and picked up our order to eat in tent. Had three fish and chips and one scampi, all delicious and we were given a little pot of vinegar too so the chips didn't get soggy. Nice to have a night off from cooking!

Just been here as staying in a cottage in Nawton Village. Lovely fish, well done chips, scraps. Friendly owners, packed us off with vinegar also. The fish was plump & delicious. Small parking to the front & local area, would definitely recommend

Top notch fish & chip shop with a warm welcoming service. Everything we had was freshly cooked so it did take some time get ready, but it was worth the wait. Very tasty.

I came to this chips shop as it was recommend to us by locals while we were recently on holiday. we've tried other chips in the area before and this is by far the best in the area and the next time were calling through we will defiantly calling by again and the Staff were lovely and very nice.

Would highly recommend! regularly use this chip shop each week, never had anything negative to say! Wonderful staff and service! Very good fish & Chips, brilliant sized portions for good money! Always willing to fulfil individual needs!! Overall 5* rating doesn't seem enough!

Regularmente este chips debido al hecho de que no creo en ningún otro lugar en la zona de hacer pescado y patatas fritas de calidad como aquí! Estás siempre con una sonrisa y una cálida bienvenida se dará cuando se abre la puerta! El tamaño de las porciones son geniales para el precio muy generoso caballero Puede llegar a estar muy concurrida en una noche, así que a veces ring y orden antes de la fecha de llegada. Otro punto que me hace orgullosa de este lugar es que la comida es preparada a la orden y no a la izquierda de estar allí! Genial lo recomiendo encarecidamente!

Best ever chips and fish.Cook in beef dripping not veg oil.Thats why they taste best.No fish chips in area are better.And they cook fresh. Not hanging around

It was about a week ago when I visited with my step-dad and uncle. The staff were extremely rude towards my step dad, he had a white cane because he is blind. The staff the accused him of been able to see, and saying he doesn't look blind. My step-Dad then turned around and why would I have a white cane with me if I could see. The male who was working behind the counter then started getting in my step dads face swearing, pointing. Making us all feel intimadated. We then left as we didn't pay for our order, and didn't want to receive any more abusive from these staff members.

Went for food with my niece and brother in-law who is blind and they disrespected him so we ended up walking out!! Shouting and swearing! Will never go there again, there was no customer service what so ever! Avoid that place.!!!!

Called on way home.Glad we did, the place was spotless.The man and lady behind the counter nice and pleasant,genuinely interested in the customer.(great service) for my experience buying battered sausage and chips.I commented to the man who was wiping the microwave out you don't see that much.I wished we lived closer.

Sí, hay horas limitadas, pero cuando está abierta, vale la pena ir. No es una larga espera antes que la comida llega de un estándar muy alto. Es su tienda morealess promedio de chip.los propietarios son muy amables que son buenos conversadores.

Very small fish and chip shop with limited opening hours. Nice people running it too. But the chips must have been hanging around for sometime and as visitors to the area we seemed to have been given them whilst it was said to the locals not to give them those chips. Hmmmm!,,,,

Can have limited opening hours due to location, but, you can telephone to check and even place an order! Well worth the drive out from Helmsley to get them, fantastic food and great prices. Lots of events in the area and as its on the main road easy to find
