The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Tynemouth North Tyneside North East

We came here from Newcastle centre to have some fresh seafood and Riley’s Fish Shop was an excellent choice in all aspects! We had a nice friendly chat with lady staff before our lunch started. Smooth wine and oysters of both types on offer were a must (not local catch but Irish and Channel). Then we prudently went through all the small dish menu :-) Especially scallops were absolutely splendid. Booking is recommended. Next time im here, I will be back for sure! Thank you :-)

Been here a few times now and it is always consistently good. Granted it is on the pricey side but you pay that for the setting and quality. Popular spot so be prepared for some noise as it is always busy!

A lovely cafe restaurant with excellent views (hence the name) of the beach. Inside had a nice cosy feel to it. Outside on the terrace, you can take dogs. Again, it has a lovely view. Food was excellent with generous portions and great service. A really nice place to catch a view and get some great food and drink.

We were really excited to come here, we’re keen to have a nice Sunday lunch with friends but we came away very disappointed. We ordered fish and chips on a Sunday mid way through service, they told us they were sold out. Instead of the fish and chips our friend orders sides, they came back five minutes later saying they had no cauliflower cheese. The broccoli was very underwhelming, it was advertised as buttery, there was no butter in sight on that broccoli. The broccoli were like tree trunks, extremely undercooked. Also should have come with honey glazed carrots, however there was no carrots. They took 20 extra minutes for 2 pigs in blankets which were average in best. All four of our meals came out separately and they were all not hot at all. One of us asked for an extra Yorkshire instead of the meat and it didn’t come out with the food. The service was very slow, it took a while to order our food and we had to ask for gravy twice and took 30 minutes after asking for the bill for them to finally come over. Also there was no toilet roll in the toilets. So overall the experience was pretty poor. However, the drinks were amazing, should just become a bar.
