Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond

Leven, West Dunbartonshire, 45-60£
10/09/2018: My husband and I had Sunday lunch here. We did 3-course meal paired with wines.
24/12/2017: My girlfriend and I had lunch for her birthday. The meal was superb and the service excellent. We enjoyed the scallop and truffle amuse and the rare treat of having skate for the main course. We cannot wait to come back

The Stables Restaurant

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire
09/12/2018: Booked a table on saturday night & asked for a table which was wheelchair friendly this was duly done our drinks order was taken by a very friendly member of staff followed by our food order everything we had was excellent and will definitely return soon.
22/11/2018: Soirée en couple, plutôt déçue apres avoir suivi les commentaires tripadvisor.

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, >100£
17/12/2018: Food here is amazing. So tasty and plenty of it. Service was quick and excellent. It was spotless clean and I even saw the waiters cleaning as we were there at a quiet time. My only bit of feedback would be the interior doesn’t match the quality of the food. My chair was a bit rickety and felt a bit cold. Could improve the ambience however if I return to Loch Lomand I would certainly come back for the food.
10/12/2018: We had a lovely meal with a couple of friends. It was one of those occasions where we had kept talking about going for a meal. So when my other half suggested Cucina we found out that this was a favourite haunt of our friends. So that made it easy when it came to the food and drink. We didn't need to recommend any dish to our friends because like anyone who has been before you know exactly what you are getting. You get brilliant wholesome food cooked to perfection every time with terrific portions. 10 out of 10 for the food. The staff are all very friendly and always there when needed to assist you in any way. You are not rushed to finish your meal and there's always time for a bit of banter. Overall a good night with good people

The Glencairn Lounge

Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, <20£
23/11/2018: Always outstanding food and service. Never a bad experience out of the many times eating in! Easily in my top 3 places to visit for some whole hearty food and crazy portions! Enough to feast while you visit and have some to take home for later. Ideal!
12/11/2018: 3rd visit and still impressed, great food served by lovely staff at great prices, reminder next time wear stretchy trousers see you soon xxxx

Delhi DarBar

Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire
30/10/2018: Inside the restaurant is cozy and well decorated. Complimentary poppadoms and spices onions to start. The meal was delicious and the service welcoming. Reasonably priced. A highly recommended restaurant
20/08/2018: My whole family have always ordered take away from here, but my mum and I decided to sit in one evening and we were both very impressed. The host was very welcoming and such a pleasure to chat with, the service was over and above our expectations. The decor was charming and relaxed, you could easily forget you were in the Shire. As always the dishes were full of flavour, a well established curry house which will continue to be our first choice.

Balloch House

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, 30-45£
12/11/2018: Referred to this pub/restaurant by the owner of the bed and breakfast. Had dinner on the night of arrival and looked forward to the roast pork, ruffled roast potatoes and seasonal greens. Admittedly, towards the end of the kitchen service but the pork was really dry. Seasonal greens were soggy, carrots were simply steamed and oversoft, potatoes were soggy not ruffled and crisp. Long story short, came back for lunch next day- steak sandwich was a few slices of steak in a stale bun with very few fried onions. Strike two equals a review. However, the location, decor and in particular the polite, interested and pleasant young restaurant staff saved it as they were very good in their service.
11/11/2018: We stopped by there for lunch and had some nice fish and ships. It is a cosy and nice restaurant directly at the water. It was very loud inside because it was very busy. The staff was kind and helpful.

The Kilted Skirlie

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, <20£
25/07/2018: We were looking for a place to eat within the Loch Lomond Shores shopping center and went in because we liked the ambiance inside. Great decision as the staff was friendly and helpful and we sure needed help to choose the Scottish dishes on the menu. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We picked all the Scottish specialties and enjoyed them - Haggis, Black Pudding with whiskey and black pepper mayonnaise (fascinating combo), smoked salmon, steak pie in red wine – suffice to say, eating here was an adventure.
10/07/2018: We had lunch on the terrace, in front of the loch under a glorious sun. Moreover, not content with serving delicious salads and burgers, the staff, and especially Hannah who was looking after us, was amicable and efficient throughout. Highly recommended.

The Abbotsford Hotel

Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire
23/11/2018: Me and my girlfriend frequent here as the food is usually great and the price is always brilliant! Only reason I say usually is because a couple of times of the many the food wasn’t up to the standards I’ve had but it’s never bad. Highly recommended and the drink selection is great as well!
17/10/2018: Went here for my niece's birthday. "FRESH FISH" the menu proudly displayed. A few of us had starters and this is where it began to go wrong.....they don't serve the main course until EVERYONE has finished their starters but they cooked the main course and just left it sitting in their kitchen waiting on the last person at the table finished their starter. The batter on the fish just disintegrated and the fish was as dry as a bone and just crumbled into mash. It was quite simply the worst I have ever had. The "hotel" looked like it hadn't been decorated since the early 1960's.....decadent would be an understatement! It was noted that not one single waiter/waitress approached us to ask "if everything was ok". Under normal circumstances I would have had no hesitation in complaining but I was under strict instructions from my partner that I was not "to cause a scene at my niece's birthday". For 3 days I ran the guts out of myself and within a week I found out that other family members had also been the same. I thought it was the disgusting lager they sold but the others had not drunk lager. Then I asked my partner to find out what the others (who were ill) had to eat and the same answer came bak from all of them, "fish". You would be well advised to follow the instructions in the title of this review!

The Tullie Inn

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, >100£
13/11/2018: Had dinner one evening and lunch on another day. Very cosy, food was amazing and lovely to sit in the glass area at the front of the Inn to watch the world go by on a very rainy day or evening.
11/11/2018: Good quality pub food, quite varied menu, well received by our party. There are several different areas in which to sit, suitable for groups, family, or quieter types. There's pool and TV in the bar area. Not a rowdy pub, one of the best in area.

The Princess Rose

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, 20-30£
13/12/2018: My family and I used to live in the area and used to dine in the restaurant .I considered it the best chinese in the area , last week we visited the area once again and ordering a take away from princess rose was a must . Unfortunately it was not anywhere near as good as we recalled from the past. The chicken used in the dishes tasted of nothing ( frozen and pumped full of water to make it weigh more I would say ) .the chicken chow mein is not what you would tradionally expect ,mushrooms amongst over veg included? But what was most disappointing was the " Chinese gravy " at cost of £2. It was a tub of gravy made with beef gravy granules ; nothing chinese about that. We spent £50 for 4 of us . Most of it went in the bin . Poor quality and at approximately £7 a dish a right rip off
24/11/2018: Beautiful freshly cooked quality food, with excellent service. Lunch time menu, although fairly limited, is reasonably priced, generously portioned and really tasty. Evening menu is a lot dearer, but well worth it. Food couldn't taste better, portions are huge, and extraordinary efforts are involved in the beautiful presentation. We gladly travel 100 miles to this lovely restaurant, & 3 times have brought visitors with us. You can't beat their crispy chilli beef, Cantonese sweet and sour king prawns, or barbecued spare ribs! Our next trip up shortly will be for our wedding anniversary.

Queen of the Loch

Lomond, West Dunbartonshire, <20£
25/11/2018: Where shall I begin. First when I got seated under the table was not clean. Second I asked for a fresh orange and lemonade but I had to get it changed 5 times because it had soda in it so I ended up having to get a Coke. Third the carvery was not that good. Fourth it took quite a while for the food to come out and it was not busy. Fifth when I got my pizza it was chewy, hard and did not taste like pizza. And Sixth most of the games where broke. Never going back.
16/11/2018: Popped in for nachos, bubble banger pud which were very tasty. Yorkie is very large. Desert consisted of Yorkie cheesecake and Rasberry Ripple cake which were both lovely. Limited staff working very hard. Worth a return visit.

The House of Darrach

08/12/2018: Not the best chip shop in the world, food was average, they didnt even have any pizza sauce left so i couldnt order my first choice, doubt ill be back in a hurry, service was quick and is quite cheap but not the best tasting chips.
14/11/2018: Live a short drive away but had never been to this cafe. Decided to pop in for a quick lunch. There is a sign on the door saying TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2017.
