Everything about this magnificent cafe is astounding - sensational, friendly service; a diverse and delectable menu with a range of tantalising and decadently delicious dishes; expertly brewed coffee and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. My friends and I feel that this marvel deserves all the respect and recognition in the world - it is truly the best possible start to the day! Located directly beneath Dumbarton East Train Station - so perfectly situated too x

This little gem is at the entrance to Dumbarton East Station & took the brave step of opening during the pandemic. It's q great place for a takeaway for the train journey, or to sit in for a hot drink, a cake, or a freshly made sandwich. The owner is very friendly & welcoming & the food is scrumptious. For tea drinkers you get a pot with 3 good size cups of tea. Good value too. Fully deserves to be successful. Recommended.

What a fab little gem! We needed a lunch pitstop on our road trip and thought this place sounded interesting. We have had some less-than-stellar food experiences in Scotland (sorry!) so were delighted to discover Common Ground. Carefully curated menu, friendly owners/staff, lovely decor and even a great soundtrack - it really made our day! We’re quite fussy about the quality of our food and this didn’t disappoint. Kids had pancakes, husband had breakfast brioche with black pudding and I had avocado on toast and it was all delicious. And the coffee was good, strong and hot. Perfect! Highly recommend!

Easily the best coffee in the local area making it worth a visit on its own. But there's the added bonus of delicious pastries (raspberry almond croissant and Biscoff cruffin are my favourites) and a lovely brunch/lunch menu. Plus everyone serving is super friendly. It really is a great place.

My absolute favourite café. I’m in almost everyday for takeaway coffee and a quick brekkie (incredible brioche rolls or overnight oats are divine) before work. Graeme and the team are so lovely and their service is second to none. But I love coming to sit in for brunch with family even space for a wee one in the high chair too! The chorizo hash is full of flavour and the place is so cosy you will be wanting to stay for more than one coffee afterwards. If you’re on your way up north for holidays this is a perfect place to stop for breakfast/lunch free nearby parking in the station car park and only a 2 min detour!

Ive been going here pretty much since it Commond Ground opened and is definitely one of the best places around for coffee and is spot on every time. The cakes and pastries are top tier level and well on par with the standard you would expect in most cafes in Glasgow. The guys also churn out some great breakfast items too with pancake stacks, filled brioche rolls and grilled cheese. The guys have great chat too and are super friendly and can't do enough for you!

Absolute gem of a place! They have the best pastries I’ve ever tasted, biscoff cruffin is my favourite. The blondies are also totally mouthwatering and they have an excellent selection of hot drinks. The brunch menu is also great and a bit different from usual cafe food. The cheese and spinach grilled cheese is lovely but my favourite has to be eggs on sourdough. So delicious and beautifully seasoned every time. You can take away but eat in is also available and has a lovely warm atmosphere. The service is delightful with Graeme and Karina always full of smiles and good banter. It’s a must visit :D

The most amazing Latè I have ever had! Don't even get me started on the buttermilk pancakes (drool), slowly making my way through their variety of fresh pastries and cakes! Great atmosphere and staff were very friendly! Can't wait to come back!! Ps haven't been myself but I've heard the themed nights they do are out of this world! Keep up the good work!

This hidden gem is located under Dumbarton East railway station and while it is a very intimate setting, the food and drinks are worth the visit. My first visit was all about the freshly baked croissants and brownies accompanied by the best coffee. Now that Covid restrictions have eased, the sitting area is open and the breakfast/brunch menu is amazing. I had a beautiful grilled cheese sandwich with mushroom and spinach filling and it was epic. Absolutely worth a visit if you are passing.
