Lovely open sandwhiches! we felt so welcome. The cakes looked amazing (although I didn’t have one as my sandwhich was more than enough) I will have to get one next time. Quality food

Excellent little restaurant, we were here for the fathers day set menu and they could have charged twice the price for the quality of food they served. I would definitely recommend.

Banging breakfast, everything was nice. Friendly staff here too. My wife is American and loved the coffee. The Scots know how to do breakfast.

I was staying at the Golden Jubilee for work and walked here because it was close. I ate here 2 nights, tried the steak pie and the chili. Both hit the spot on a good wet night. It does have seating beyond the bar. The kitchen puts in more care into the dishes and I found everything to the sticky toffee pudding delicious.

Been updated recently and not an improvement. They built the square in the middle of the bar so to get in you are funneled past the bar. This means if people are standing at the bar it's often blocked just to walk it. The room to get past is small so the bar people can't stand easily and the people entering are blocked. For such a large place they have managed to reduce the accessable way in and reduce the table space. We tried to come in and while there were tables there were groups of 3 spread over 2 tables so we couldn't come in. I don't like what they have done. It's become a bit of a local bar for local people.
