The Grange at St Andrews

St. Andrews, Fife, 30-45£
16/04/2019: Esta fue una visita a la hora del almuerzo para el menú de precio fijo.
16/04/2019: This is an excellent restaurant. Has to be one of the best in Scotland. The menu is imaginitave and the main courses of guinea fowl and venison were to die for.

Room With a View

Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay, Fife, 20-30£
12/04/2019: Booked lunch and decided to see if we could drive ourselves to the restaurant, rather than utilize the complementary pick-up/drop-off service from anywhere in Aberdour, that the restaurant offers. The road down is narrow, rough and quite steep with limited parking at the destination but is achievable.
12/04/2019: we actually stayed here for the night, so it was, indeed, a room with a view! wonderful vista over the forth, inch colm and keith and all the way to edinburgh. during the night there was a storm, the rain was so torrential it woke us up, and we sat and watched the forth foaming and roaring for and hour cosy in our room. and thats not even mentioning the dinner....

Cellar

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife
18/04/2019: Spectacular and memorable meal. We knew what we were getting (they mentioned it on the phone when we booked, but I'd already seen the website) -- a fixed five course tasting menu and we'd taken the precaution to leave those in the family with dietary restrictions or limited tastes at home.
16/04/2019: Some of the most amazing taste combinations I've experienced.

Cafe Jannetta

St. Andrews, Fife
14/04/2019: As a family of 4 we were promptly greeted. It is always super busy so we did have to wait around 5 mins. No biggie. Then we devoured tomato lentil soup and a sandwich each. Only difficultly was picking an ice cream. Too many to decide. Utterly delicious.
10/04/2019: It’s a must when visiting St Andrews. We passed yesterday afternoon and there was at least 30 in the queue. Says it all really..

The Seafood Restaurant

St. Andrews, Fife, 45-60£
17/04/2019: If you are a foodie, this is the place to go. The food was inventive, super fresh and spectacular. The setting over looking the sea just cannot be beat!

The View Restaurant

Tay Bridgehead, Fife
16/04/2019: Really nice lunch today. We hadn’t booked but no problem as not that busy. Starters were delicious and came quickly, then mains were scrumptious. My dad was disappointed no battered fish but he ordered the breaded plaice and really enjoyed it. I had grilled cod in a lovely lemony creamy sauce. Both fishes were tender and juicy. Nice choices of desserts on offer but we were too full so just coffee to finis( up. Overall a lovely meal with, unsurprisingly, a lovely view!
13/04/2019: Excellent varied menu, Delicious food, beautifully presented,. Staff are friendly and polite and always helpful. I love coming here!

The Ship Tavern

Burntisland, Kinghorn and Western Kirkcaldy, Fife
25/03/2019: We both very much enjoyed the food and service provided to us when we visited The Ship Tavern. When entering the premises we were greeted by most members of staff. The food we were served was perfect. Very tasty and served in good time.
24/03/2019: We pre-booked this place because of the size of our group, (12), and The Ship, talking to others that have dined here before have said it's always busy. There are tables in the bar area when you enter but we were at a table through in the back room. On the night we were there, 3 large tables were set up each with 12 seats, although 10 people per table would give you more room. We ordered our food and drinks which came out shortly after. All the food that was served was excellent and tasty with a good portion size on each plate, couple of small niggles though were the chips, which were frozen chips and the steak pie which wasn't a pie, it was stew with a pastry topping. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. The toilets were clean and tidy. Don't let the 2 small niggles put you off though as this is a great place for a meal.

The Boudingait

Cupar, Fife, 30-45£
16/04/2019: Read some of the negative reviews but decided to take a chance anyway and we’re glad we did. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, the staff were very attentive and quick and the food was lovely; great sized portions too.
14/04/2019: Once again shocking attitude from staff not for the first time. We went in for a nightcap and tried to make our way to the bar, which wasn’t easy as there was a group of men standing and people sitting at the bar, a female member of staff appeared behind us and said ‘if you move you will get served quicker’!!!! God knows where she wanted us to go but a simple excuse me (with a smile) would have done. The customer service in this place is bad and every time we say never again but continue to go back. It’s obvious that unless your a regular your not welcome, as a local resident of Cupar this is not a place I would recommend.

Peat Inn

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife, 60-100£
16/04/2019: We were up in Scotland visiting family and took the chance to dine at the Peat Inn. I had visited and stayed here some 25 years ago and wanted to return. It’s obviously changed ownership but so much remains the same. Great location, beautiful decor and amazing food. I’ve enjoyed lots of fine dining experience but the quail egg starter is perhaps the best starter I’ve ever had. Astonishing. This really is must find location and you won’t be disappointed. Perhaps the service I could be a little sharper but that’s a small observation.
14/04/2019: We had a family celebration recently with eight of us staying overnight. The staff are tremendous:knowledgeable and attentive but not intrusive. We opted for all eight having the tasting menu (tailored to meet the requirements of one who is pregnant). When you push the boat out a little you expect good value. The Peat Inn did not disappoint. The cooking demonstrated real skill and the whole experience was excellent. The rooms are great and breakfast served in the room was a real bonus. I have no hesitation in recommending the Peat Inn.

Cobbies Bar and Kitch Inn

Tay Bridgehead, Fife
17/04/2019: I cannot say anything that the other reviewers have not already said. Fantastic food (with a twist,) superb service and all it's own little quirks. The thing that makes it stands out for me is there is no kids menu and this is a good thing. No hot dogs pr pizza here, the kids can pick anything off the main menu which is truly fabulous.
10/04/2019: We love coming over to Cobbies, Sean's food is excellent, the menu is always fantastically varied and the service from Sean and Alex is outstanding. Always worth a call ahead, especially at weekends, but really can't reccomend the Kitch Inn enough.

Kingarroch Inn

Cupar, Fife, 20-30£
12/04/2019: According to their website, they have now ceased trading. It looked lovely, so very sad to see this.
06/04/2019: Absolutely disappointed! We booked twice. The first time they were not able to fulfil our reservation because it was done too close to the booking time. They never answered to the phone and never consider the online system. Second booking was confirmed but when we arrived at the restaurant it was closed!!! No sign on the door about any reason. No possibility to ask information as the phone call was greeted by an answering machine with not even a chance to leave a message. We had a voucher that we could not use. This is very upsetting and no way to run a business!!

14/04/2019: Excelente comida muy auténtica y muy buen servicio. Una gran variedad de tapas y precios muy razonables.
13/04/2019: Not the first time at this amazing place. The menu is delightfully small but plenty to chose from for anybody's palette. All lovingly prepared and freshly cooked by Juan and his team.

The Kettlebridge Inn

Howe of Fife and Tay Coast, Fife
16/04/2019: A great welcome and a really interesting menu on an Italian theme. We started with antipasto, and then I had taglietelle with prawns and my wife had pollo salmone, both of which were excellent. I continued my world survey of Tiramisu, and would place this one in the top 6. I was glad to be able to finish with my customary Grappa, which was of good quality. The wine list had a really good choice. On a Wednesday night it was by no means busy.
02/04/2019: Not sure why it has taken me a year to visit the Italian in Kettlebridge but I will certainly not be leaving it so long next time. All dishes are freshly made, great choice and the pizza was very tasty! There is also a specials menu along side the normal menu.

Craig Millar @ 16 West End

East Neuk and Land Ward, Fife
17/04/2019: I am staying a mere few doors away on holiday and my wife and I booked a meal out whilst the girls gorged on DVDs (our first meal out alone!)
15/04/2019: Whenever my wife and I are visiting friends in St. Monans we dine in this excellent restaurant. As one would expect seafood is one of their specialities. The freshly prepared and very tasty Halibut is my usual selection. A fine selection of beers and wines are on offer. Service is good and prices are reasonable. Should you be in St. Monans on vacation or for any other reason, I recommend that you dine in this splendid restaurant.
