Nathaniel’s Restaurant in Fife

Recently re-opened as a restaurant after being a wedding-only venue for several years. Beautiful country house in a lovely rural setting. Staff are very welcoming and looked after us very well. Food was great - modern Scottish. Overall feels like a really high-end experience, but at prices similar to many St Andrews restaurants.

Outstanding food and service, you are made feel very welcome and at home We booked Saturday lunch at this beautiful country house. The building itself is stunning and you can see it was a previous wedding venue, the finishes are top notch. We were greeted at the door by Carlos who looked after us throughout. He made us all including our children with ASN feel very welcome. The food was delicious. We looked at the menu before booking and whilst it looked delicious to my husband and I our youngsters would prefer plainer food. The day before Carlos rang and arranged what they would like - fish and chips, delivered lovely thick battered haddock and hand cut chips! Kids were very happy. I had yummy Roe Deer and my hubby had fillet steak. All fabulous. We then finished off with super desserts - see photos. Thank you Stewart the chef. We will return here when in the area without hesitation. If you are looking for great food in a beautiful setting. This is for you!!

Tolles Ambiente, aufmerksamer Service, gute Weine, Speisenauswahl nicht sehr groß, Essen war gut. Schön war, dass wir für den Aperetif in den Salon geführt und erst für den Gruß aus der Küche zum Tisch gebracht wurden.

We had a beautiful meal the night before our Wedding here. Not only was the food fantastic but the service was outstanding! We would highly recommend.

We visited here today for lunch at Nathaniels Restaurant. The food was sourced locally and was absolutely superb. I had Black pudding and Haggis duo for starters and was like a main course on its own. This was followed by beaded haddock and potatoes with salad and home made tarter sauce. I was sorry that I had no room left for the sweet course but did have a cappuccino with home made shortbread. Prices were very reasonable and the service from the staff was second to none could not be faulted. Highly recommend and will certainly be back again.

Had dinner at Nathaniels last week and it was excellent. The service was first class and very professional, (thanks Carlos). Sandie commented that her steak was the best she'd ever had. The building and grounds are beautiful, very well maintained and the atmosphere was excellent. Will definitely will be going again.

My friend and I ate from the fixed price menu which had lots of choice and was good value. The waiter along with the receptionist who we spoke to on arrival were lovely. We had a delicious non alcoholic drink which the waiter suggested. The food was good but not wow. As my friend had tried to get a table in the past but the restaurant had always been full we thought the food would be excellent. The decor is a bit faded but the surrounding area is stunning. Perhaps our expectations were just too high.

Good service, well set out tables. I will return with friends in the near future. I have already reviewed this restaurant under Craigsanquhar Hotel.

We have been several times and have always had great food. There is a good selection of food and an extensive wine menu, served in the restaurant within the hotel. The hotel is set in nice grounds, surrounded by the Fife countryside, half way between Cupar and Dundee. From autumn to spring the fire is lit giving a warm friendly feel to the room and there is friendly attentive service at the table. This is somewhere we will keep going to and although I am advertising it, I hope it doesn't get too busy as we won't be able to get a booking!!!

Beautiful hotel in great surroundings. Was very quiet, with only us and then later another couple in the restaurant (but that was nice). Service was very good throughout. All the food we had was excellent and prices for food and wine was pretty good for a hotel of this quality. Would recommend it and will be back.

My partner took me to Craigsanquar for my birthday on 22nd December 2017, when we arrived we were the only people there apart from 3 staff. The food was lovely but there was just no atmosphere in the restaurant, I think I would have prefered it if we had been made aware that we would be the only ones there as I don't think we would have gone. Craigsanquar is a lovely hotel and the staff were very nice so that would be my only complaint.

We stumbled on this great restaurant in the information at our self catering accommodation and wow we were blown away going back for a second meal. We ate in the restaurant although we were offered bar menu . The service was exceptional and the food was divine - it was of a high standard, cooked well and very tasty - steak was perfect! On our second visit the experience was as before great service and fabulous food in a wonderful setting .... we will be back!!

We visited Craigsanquhar for dinner whilst staying at the nearby Balmeadowside Lodges for my mother-in-laws special birthday (banned from saying what number)! The house is lovely, and the dinner we had was excellent. Our waiter Carlos was first class and Nathaniel's are very lucky to have someone like him. He made everything special and nothing was too much hassle- he even served my pregnant wife her Appletiser in a wine glass so she didn't feel left out of the celebrations. Would highly recommend Nathaniel's at Craigsanquar to anyone staying in the Cupar area.

We love craigsanquhar house. The food at the restaurant is just delicious and they have a dining menu as well as a bar menu meaning you can have relaxed dining as well as more formal. Great place.

Nos llevamos a mis socios de padres por un pre-cena de Navidad. Habían sido diez (o más) años que habían pasado al hotel craigsanquhar, y estoy seguro de que el restaurante no estaba en ese momento llamado Nathaniel. Craigsanquhar Hotel es una muy buena 'Casa de campo', en gran parte de Fife: un entorno muy rural. Bien señalizado de Cupar en América, es fácil de encontrar.

Pasamos una noche muy agradable celebración de cumpleaños en el restaurante. El gerente del restaurante Carlos fue muy servicial en la planificación y el servicio. La comida y la bebida era excelente. Los alrededores son preciosos. Me alegré de que no sólo centrándose en bodas. También hemos estado un par de veces para la cena y la comida y el servicio excelente.

Comimos aquí en el domingo de agosto de este año, porque nos quedamos en el hotel.

El hotel está un poco alejado, pero valdrá la pena el esfuerzo de ir allí.

Después de celebrar nuestras hijas boda aquí hace 9 años pensamos que estaría bien ir allí para una comida mientras que en una visita a Escocia.

If you are looking for fresh, flavoursome and well cooked food then look no further wow is what I can say,,, The service may I add was fabulous, we weren't rushed even though they ere extremely busy they allowed us to enjoy our coffee in comfy relaxed sofas, Thanks guys you were great,,, see you soon

Had dinner here twice. Interesting varied menu. Between us we had four courses all first class well presented food. The venison is especially good. The cost was not extortionate. Really good place for a s[pesial meal

Excelente comida en el restaurante de Nathaniel en Craigsanquhar House Hotel. calidad y muy buena calidad de comida. Primera clase y menú del chef tiene unos precios muy buenos. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante encantador que ofrece magníficas vistas de la campiña local. El personal es muy, muy servicial y nada era de ningún problema para ellos. topamos con este lugar por casualidad semana pasada para el almuerzo. Es difícil de creer que esta joya de lugar es sólo un 4 millas en coche de Cupar. El entorno del lugar es verdaderamente idílico con vistas impresionantes.

This restaurant is situated in a beautiful part of Fife. Service with a smile and the food was devine, would definitely recommend :0)

Me quedé muy impresionado cuando visité aquí por primera vez con mi pareja. Cuando entré en la hermosa mansión que automáticamente pensamos que el restaurante sería caro debido a la decoración y el entorno increíble pero me sorprendió gratamente encontrar muy razonable. Mi pareja tuvo un plato de marisco, que desearía elegido como me dio un sabor y estaba delicioso. Había lubina para mi plato principal que estaba delicioso! No sólo la comida increíble, nos dimos un paseo por los jardines después que son algo fuera de este mundo. No me puedo quejar el lugar. Yo sin duda alguna volveremos!
