The Cotton House

Denny and Banknock, Falkirk, >100£
13/12/2018: Normally indifferent about prawn crackers, but the ones here are a cut above (and complimentary). Would especially recommend the Malaysian Curry Mussels starter.
24/11/2018: Been going to Cotton House for 16 years now and this is the first time I’ve left a review.I just take it for granted when we go that the staff will be nothing but pleasant and the food is great but it’s time to say to something is place could not look after you any better all the staff and every manager or male or female have done everything in there power to help, the staff don’t have all been great past and present.we have taken many people and advised many to go and never got a bad reaction my son loves it that much We went from Glasgow to the Cotton House for his wedding dinner then back to Glasgow.Christmas Dinner there is first class and my son comes from Glasgow for a carry out and back and it’s brill some hope a can still go for the next 16 years so to Kathine and her staff thanks p.s my granddaughter won’t go anywhere else

The Tea House,Larbert

Bonnybridge and Larbert, Falkirk
12/12/2018: Visited with friends and the food was amazing as always. The restaurant has recently had a makeover and it is lovely but I feel they have crammed in a few too many tables and it is a bit tight.
12/12/2018: Recommended to us by the desk clerk at our nearby hotel. We found that all the tables were full when we got there, but they told us that we could do take-away. So we did. It was very good food and we were all well-fed. I'd like to go back some time!

Cafe torino grangemouth

Grangemouth, Falkirk
26/10/2018: Dropped in for breakfast with my friend for a catch up. I ordered a large breakfast and my friend ordered a scrambled egg roll. We both had coffee. My breakfast was indeed large with a good variety. My friend really enjoyed her scrambled egg roll. The food was hot and tasted very fresh and the staff were so friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this café to anyone and will definitely keep coming back.
08/09/2018: I always go here nearly once a week because i love my bake potatoes with spicey chicken and juice or a coffee the staff are always freindly. Also they have high chairs & baby changing facilitys. My son yesterday had ham & cheese roll and fruit shoots and my partner had cooked breakfast. Very quick service and staff always happy to help.

Johnston's Bar Bistro

Falkirk North, Falkirk
15/12/2018: A humiliating experience with possibly the worst customer service we have experienced anywhere in the world. Admittedly we had not booked, however the abundance of empty tables implied availability. We were offered a table which was then taken off us by an unpleasant male who failed to introduce himself or display any of the usual social pleasantries expected in a bar/restaurant- smiling doesn’t hurt! We were offered menus- prior to being uprooted, Mr hostile then appeared to move us on , I asked mr hostile for the allergen list - I was given the gluten free menu - it is 2018, this caveman obviously hadn’t had recent training and had a hissy fit when I explained I was anaphylactic and this was not an allergen menu. He asked for my allergies, I gave him my medical list and was promptly advised as I had not booked I could not be accommodated. The chef was under pressure (quote)- amazing on a Saturday prior to Xmas albeit in a half empty place. There’s no saying how they would have reacted if I had booked? Under disability discrimination - autoimmune disorders are protected- this is unlawful discrimination - refusal to serve or accommodate a paying customer. As a ‘mature’ woman, I was completely embarrassed to be evicted from a pub in my hometown. Apparently I’m welcome to return!!! I must add, mr hostile did not manage my husband well who was upset at being refused service and having been in the unfortunate position of resuscitating me, would prefer me not to eat foods that could lead to premature death, needless to say we prefer to be honest in eateries and not take the risk of hospitalisation. It’s 2018, it’s not unreasonable to expect to order a meal fit for dietary requirements.
09/11/2018: Nice food presented well and good service. We had a large table and picked from a set menu. The pate and burger were tasty and no complaints from the table who were served quickly and efficiently. Will be back

Pierre's

Falkirk North, Falkirk, 45-60£
09/12/2018: Used to visit this restaurant many years ago and went for a Christmas meal last week. The menu was unusual and the food and service was fabulous. Well worth the money.
07/11/2018: We were visiting the Falkirk Wheel with a friend and wanted to treat our friend, who is gluten intolerant to a special meal. Based on reviews we booked at Pierrre's and can fully endorse all the positive reviews already given. We would certainly go again if we were in the area.

Corbie Inn at Corbiehall

Bo'ness and Blackness, Falkirk, >100£
30/11/2018: Last time we visited we ate in the bar and didn't see the lovely restaurant. Everything I had tonight was perfect -the pate and oatcakes, the minute steak with haggis and the Bailey's cream coffee. The staff were pleasant and unobtrusive and unlike in many places, the music playing was quiet enough not to be noticeable. The cuisine was pub food, but with some Scottish and unusual options, large portions and plenty of meat. I felt it was slightly understaffed for a Friday night, but generally the service was efficient. Would definitely go again and recommend for special family occasions.
06/11/2018: Warm and welcoming with excellent home cooked pub grub. Good sized portions without extortionate prices. Also sell very good craft beef made in the small brewery at the back of the premises

Champany Inn

Upper Braes, Falkirk, >100£
25/04/2018: You cannot criticise the ambiance or the concept, but on our last visit there were a couple of elements that disappointed us. But lets start with the positives, fabulous oysters, beautiful home baked bread. Great menu. But two disappointments - our £100 chateaubriand was dry and overcooked as were the accompanying potatoes. I think they had been cooked for ages. I cannot understand why the server did not notice this, and that is our second criticism - the staff were amateurish and the sommelier aloof and inattentive.
22/04/2018: A truly fabulous experience now as it has been for many years.

Corvi's

Bo'ness and Blackness, Falkirk, <20£
12/10/2018: We stopped by for a quick bite to eat and got some chip butties as well as a fish and chips. The chip butties were really good and it was good trying "chippy" sauce for the first time. I believe that Corvi's is a family run business, and it was good to see elements of it's history from several black and white photos on the wall. It is also the first place I've come across from the selection in the ice cream cabinet to have Puff Candy flavour which sounds great.
02/10/2018: A proper chippy run by the same family for over a century that serves smoked haddock in batter (brown fish supper) and many other appetising meals. Try it you won’t be disappointed it’s the best in the area and beyond....

Abbotsinch

Grangemouth, Falkirk
23/11/2018: A very good dinner menu with a decent range of dishes, reasonably priced. The "Smaller Appetite" selection was excellent and still offered decent sized servings of fine food. Our group all enjoyed their meal and found the portions of main dishes and desserts to be perfectly adequate. The service was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Comfortable, and quiet enough to enjoy conversation while eating.
06/10/2018: Reasonably priced, nice pub grub. I had the soup with a blt sandwich and it was very tasty and filling. Staff were friendly and adequately attentive. Would return again

Benny T's

Lower Braes, Falkirk
16/12/2018: This is the best fish and chip restaurant in the Falkirk are. The restaurant is really good. Staff are so welcoming and helpful. Food is consistently good. I really like that they use local butchers for their haggis, burgers and sausages which are really good quality. One of our party had a pizza which they said was one of the best they had had. The desserts are also very good Betty’s caramel apple pie is excellent and of course they have Scottish Tablet ice cream!!
12/12/2018: Visited Benny T's for first time. Nice environment, staff were prompt and pleasant. There were extremely limited options for vegetarians which was disappointing.

Gulnar Tandoori

Bonnybridge and Larbert, Falkirk
06/11/2018: Food good service was very slow not normally like this place not overly busy as it was mid week place also cold had to have coat on over my shoulders
17/10/2018: Went for the a la carte menu and was sensational. Best chicken and vegetable pakora we have both ever had. Korma and chasni were exceptional and nan bread was incredibly light. Could have had two or three of them on their own. And all reasonably priced
