We stopped for an ice cream and drink whilst visiting the Kelpies. The ice creams were the biggest one scoop ice creams we’ve ever had and delicious dessert. Staff very friendly and a view to die for

Unfortunately things were closing as we arrived at The Kelpies, but The Horsebox Cafe was still open and serving ice cream. We all got a treat and enjoyed it in the shadow of the Kelpies while also enjoying the view of the canals and the boats around. The ice cream was good. I can really only remember when it's horrible and this was not, but the highlight was the scenery!

Had lunch after visiting the play park behind the cafe. Toasties, baked potatoes, soup and ice creams all great. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly aswell so no one has to be left out when visiting the park, farm and cafe.

Went for their (monthly?) 5 course tasting menu, left thinking 'is that it and why did i expect more of somewhere in Falkirk?!' But I really don't want to let that be the branchmark for Falkirk. Most people that are from here think you have to go to Edinburgh and Glasgow for a nice meal, that shouldn't be the case. The menu didn't flow, it wasn't presented with any knowledge or passion, it didn't flow and link together and the staff didn't 'sell' or buy into it. There was a description with the wine pairing but literally nothing with the food that was presented. I don't know if it is a food or service quality issue but certainly we werent made to feel really welcome and the food was fine, but far from great.

Arrogant owner, that questions the integrity of one star reviews. Normally I leave reviews on TA, however the unprofessional response I got here earned a second one star review on Google. Terrible food, terrible owners. Refers to ‘1’ - a ‘local’ farm that imports most of its meat from Europe. ‘2’ stornoway black pudding which has a very distinctive taste vs what you would get in Tesco. Sincerely a genuine visiting reviewer, who doesn’t even live within a 1000 miles of Falkirk. So no alternative motive as this clown suggests.
