Went here for supper with a friend who is known here and uses a wheelchair. The service was kind, understanding, welcoming and attentive. Our pizzas were very good - very authentic - and reasonably priced. My tiramisu was also very good indeed. What a pity I live so far away from this place!

Wow the people here are so delightful. We were lucky to find this cafe amongst many others that did not look as inviting. The toasted sandwiches were superb, the rolls equally delicious but best of all were the home made cakes. Bonus- excellent coffee served in beautiful cups and mugs. Wonderful cafe.

We live locally and love visiting Cuculo regularly to pick up cheeses, salamis and other Italian treats. Their wine selection is also carefully curated by one of the owners, James, who organises wine tastings (including via collection and zoom during lock-downs!) and even wine tours in Italy. On a Thursday and Friday evening you can pre-order a delicious pizza and enjoy a glass of great wine whilst waiting for it. I can highly recommend their Salare red wine! Do visit as it’s lovely and we’re very lucky to have this cracking deli and wine shop in Heathfield.

The best kept secret in Lancaster. I’d heard a few people talk about this place so we decided to treat ourselves. We were not disappointed! This has made me never want a Pizza Hut/ Domino’s or Papa Johns pizza ever again. Freshly made with love and the best ingredients by the loveliest couple. We had a pizza salami and pizza empties, both delicious and they didn’t sit heavy like some pizzas do. The base was crispy and light. We sat and chatted for a few minutes whilst we waited for our pizzas and they are so kind and friendly. We weren’t sure when we drove around the industrial estate but we trusted ourselves and got to the right unit and knocked on the door. It was like a tiny piece of Italy in this small unit. Amazing!! We will definitely be back.. and telling no-one about this amazing place 😂🤭 so we can keep it to ourselves! Kidding of course!!

This is a village country traditional pub retaining all of its original features which still offers the opportunity locals to prop up the bar with your dog for just a chat and pint but there are three eating areas with the menu being 100% Italian. Outside to the front there are benches and tables and the pub offers parking too. The menu prices are very reasonable and food is very good. The service was good with helpful friendly staff.

We arrived on a rainy Monday night after a wet and weary walk from Weston. We were given a warm welcome and the pizzas were absolutely awesome. We'd definitely be regulars if we lived locally.

Fabulous Italian food very well cooked and prepared by great people. Whether you have pizza or pasta you won't be disappointed. The starters are rather filling so be warned as the main courses need to be done justice to, the chicken fusili or the carbonara are both awesome as are the freshly made pizzas which you can design yourself. Add to this a good selection of wine, cocktails and limoncello than you have a great time to look forward to. Just remember to book a table as it's a small place. Even better book for two nights, one for pasta and one for pizza!

As I was planning a weekend in Brighton, I did some research on Tripadvisor and drew up a shortlist of five outstanding Italian restaurants. Some of them offered high-end Italian cuisine which is fine but there are always certain dishes I look for when considering an Italian restaurant and they didn't offer them as menu options. Given this criteria, I decided upon Cibo and was not disappointed in the least. I decided to book a table well in advance and it's just as well I did as it was very busy upon arrival. The greeting was friendly; the service attentive and we were shown to a table near the kitchen. We both elected to start with tricolore which was exactly as it should be: each constituent ingredient being superb. My wife then went for the pollo al funghi which she absolutely devoured: had she have had the nerve, it's possible she would have licked the plate! I chose the canelloni which was spot-on: not too tomatoey, very tasty and seasoned to perfection. We rounded-off our meals with my eternal Italian dessert choice tiramisu and bannofee: both were great examples. Even the chilled-to-perfection limoncello was just right. Washed down with a fine vegan Ombrellino pinot grigio, Cibo played its coup-de-grace and we left well-satisfied, even pleased that the high standard of food, drink and service had come in just over the £100 mark. That may sound expensive but it proved to be excellent value for our meals and the overall experience.

We visited The Aviary for the first time at the end of the August. It was lovely. We wondered if we had just been lucky or if such fantastic food is par for the Course. Therefore we returned in October and I can report that it was no fluke and this restaurant is really special. Since our first visit it has been refurbished and also created a separate room acting as a bar serving light food. We stayed with the beautifully appointed restaurant and chose from their special lunch menu which is very good value at £ 25 for three courses and offers a number of choices with a diverse range of options. I started with the satay chicken with peanut sauce. In common with all the courses the presentation was superb. The chicken was very moist and the sauce was excellent. My wife opted for the avocado prawn and was surprised and happy that not only did it taste nice but the serving was most generous. We both had calves liver and crispy bacon served with a jus, mashed potato and broccoli. It was perfect.Every component of the dish was clearly made with such care and creativity. The sauce was enjoyably rich with a hint of sweetness. The chef clearly cares about the food he produces and succeeds with flying colours. For dessert we could choose any from the a la carte menu.I chose to have the banana bread pudding which was very nice and bananary ! My wife had sticky toffee pudding serviced with vanilla ice cream which she thought fabulous but she said it would have tasted even better if served with custard. The waitress whose name we found out to be Egle was brilliant. She made us feel very welcome, was very efficient and helpful and also had a lovely personality. She was proof of how important a server or manager is. A restaurant close by still very good but not as good as The Aviary had a great manager but she left and her departure left a real void. The Aviary is very fortunate indeed to have such a brilliant employee. We only have one concern and that is in trying to offer changes on the lunch menu more regularly some great dishes are taken off like the Atlantic cod.No doubt the calves liver will be replaced in time which would be sad as rather surprisingly it is not offered on the a la carte menu. It so happens that both our visits have been at lunch time.We are planning to go in the evening too.The prices for the evening are certainly no higher than those for the other high end restaurants indeed maybe slightly less. All in all The Aviary is a stunning restaurant both aesthetically and with the quality of the food.It is one of those rare places where you know you are going to be a regular after the first bite of food.
