The best restaurants serving Italian food in Mendip South West

Haven’t been here for several years and not since it was taken over by the new team. We had an excellent meal with great service from Ali whose partner does all the cooking. So a family run business that really cares about your experience and is happy to deal with food intolerances etc. I had calamari followed by swordfish in an olive, tomato and caper sauce with sauté potatoes and thoroughly enjoyed it. Reasonable pricing too. Recommended.

Greatest Pizzaria about. Fresh, crispy and perfectly cooked, couldn’t ask for better. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and happy to help. Would definitely recommend 👍👍

Good Pizza! Says what it does in the name. Visited cheese and grain for gig last night. Arrived early just before good pizza opened. Pizzas looked really good so ordered ours with some antipasti squid and halloumi fries with a Margherita and Tutti Salam. It was cooked fresh to order hot antipasti was divine and super delicious wood fired pizza. As a bonus the owners were hilarious, really friendly and fun. Not sure if this is a pop up on gig nights or not but if it is or isn’t we’d highly recommend these guys.

Such a friendly place so close to the action in Windsor. We had such a wonderful evening with delicious pasta and friendly staff…so worth a visit! Portions were so reasonable and fresh cooked. They get busy after 7:30 - 8:00pm but are open for dining 6:00. We ate then and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Luigi and Naz were wonderful. If/when we return to Windsor, we will definitely return to dine with them.

Great place to stop after a walk and have a coffee and a sweet. Mocha was delicious, not watery at all. You must try their coffee and walnut cake. It's amazing!!! I recommend it and will come again with my wife.

The best pizza ever, been here a few times now & it never disappoints! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants proper Italian pizza 😍🙌🏽

I do not understand why this place always seems to be empty when you go past. We decided to try it out. Food, service and price all superb. We had the special platter to share between the 2 of us and the food tasted outstanding and the presentation was spectacular. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family and hopefully this place gets more custom that it deserves.

Went and enjoyed a valentines meal here and the food was amazing! All served in great time and tastes fantastic! The steak melted in my mouth and cooked perfectly for me. The only issue which isn't awful was that they had forgotten to bring our bottle of wine until we had to prompt and ask for it again. Service apart from that was great and they were friendly. Would definitely recommend and would love to go again.

Excellent food service & price.

Visited earlier in the week and booked an 8.30pm table a couple of days in advance, on the day we received a call from the restaurant asking if we could move the time to an earlier slot so the chefs can clean the ovens... though thinking it was a strange ask we agreed to the ask. When we got there we had a decent enough meal, where we were served by the same lady who called us earlier in the day. We ordered a bottle of wine with the meal which arrived corked and was told I would need to open it myself. OK, again strange but we did it without complaint. Once we finished the meal we moved to the bar area for a couple of drinks (before 9pm), we sat and watched the same waitress start to close all of the blinds in the place and hovering over people's tables for anything she could see was finished with. By the time we got to 9.30 she came over to all the tables being used and asked 'are you finishing up?' we said not yet as we had only got some new drinks. People obviously felt uncomfortable as other tables did finish up and leave after that, leaving us as the last table. As soon as that was the case the waitress then came back to our table to tell us 'just to let you know that we are the last ones at the bar now'. So we basically were hounded out of the place by 9.45pm! We finished our drinks and started walking out, guess who followed us with the keys... yes the same super waitress who locked up as soon as we were through the doors. Lovely send off! What was supposed to be a nice meal out ended up being a pretty unpleasant experience. Shame as people have said good things about this place but if that is how the staff act then I wouldn't waste your cash there. There was obviously a plan to get people out as early as possible so the staff could finish up and go home, starting with the phone call. Shocking experience all round.

1.after not having breakfast because I was excited to having our special anniversary lunch. So disappointed!!It was an awful veggie meal. Didn’t eat my bruschetta.Slice of bread with beef chopped tomatoes. Main meal worse. A truffle resotto. A few mushrooms and rice over cooked with that test of vegetables oil. Could not eat it awful.

all fur coat and no knickers the service was appalling starter course was less than average in fairness main course was good they serve cocktails that they have no idea how to make dirty plates were left on the table my coffee was forgotten staff seemed to be loitering but not doing anything after 15 mins of trying to get attention of one of them i gave up and had to get up and approach them fine dining? give me a break pretentious bullsh_t
