We used to love Ciao and was hoping for an amazing Italian. Social just lacked that friendly, Italian feel. Service lacks warmth and personality. It was quiet enough to take the time to smile at least and engage with the customers. Food is nice enough but cold and not presented brilliantly. Tiramisu had hair in it and rubbish bag left in the hallway as you walked to toilets. One of my little girls banged her head and the bar staff just looked over and carried on laughing and chatting. Ciao used to make the children feel special and that’s why they wanted to eat there! Food is expensive for what it is.

Fantastic place. Home made outstanding food and generous portions. Comfortable setting and well priced wine. My new favourite.

Meh, so slooooooow. After hearing about the hype, I was really disappointed. The menu was, in my opinion, limited. Our first choice of main was sold out, at 7:30pm, hardly late for a Saturday evening. The suggested alternative a seafood risotto took approximately 45 mins and when it came it was saltier than the Dead Sea. The waiting staff were lovely, but too few and rushed off their feet.

Absolutely miserable experience. Food is ridiculously overpriced for the quality/taste. We ordered a garlic bread, clearly indicating it was to share yet the server didn’t mention it was smaller than the size of your hand for £7! The chicken parmigiana was, I’m fairly convinced, turkey not chicken. It was slimy, rubbery and did not taste like chicken. It was either turkey or I’m going to have a very poor time tonight. My mum’s dish arrived boiling hot at the edges but stone cold in the middle, they had it remade and it came out just as cold in the middle. Not sure what the ‘chef’ is doing, the pasta dishes are very clearly microwaved- is it so hard to use a thermometer to check it’s cooked to the right temperature? £40 for two dishes and a starter, £8 on drinks, just miserable. I don’t mind paying that price if the food actually tastes good but both dishes were watery and tasteless. *Edit to add that the server did not charge us for one of the pasta dishes which was much appreciated.*
