The restaurant is an interesting space with comfortable sofas lining a well lit space that leaves enough room for a potential dance floor. The walls are covered with modern Indian photography and artwork. The restaurant has an adjoining function space and a backyard beer garden. Drinks: Crisp clear pint of cobra from a well-maintained beer line is served on draught. Ice cold water in a jug on request. Food: Warm luxurious poppadoms served with four of the classic chutneys: sweetly fragranced and spiced mango chutney, skilfully diced medley of onion, tomato, and cucumber, a soulful yoghurt with mint and, on request, they bought out an extra serving of mango pickle which completed the pickle medley perfectly. Tom ordered the Gobi Manchurian as a side dish, excited by the tangy vibrant flavours to come. He realised however that’s this was listed as a starter for a reason. It took over his senses and left no need for nothing else. A dish to be enjoyed on its own. Andy ordered the chicken Haddy biryani - a chefs signature dish - hoping for a taste of home cooked food. On the side he ordered a Bindi do pyaza. The biryani succeeded in achieving the desired effect, taking him to a place achieved only once before, by his mother-in-law‘s traditional family recipe. The okra was unfortunately a little dry and chewy - the only slightly below par part of this otherwise entirely enjoyable and delightful and authentic North Indian meal. We were almost lost for words at the conclusion of the main course. The depth of flavour, richness of texture and level of enjoyment we’re out of this world. The ease at which such authenticity was created was exceptional. Tom felt like seven different thirsts he didn’t know he had were quenched simultaneously by the Rich, fresh, perfectly seasoned sauces and rice he consumed. 5 stars If we lived near this restaurant, life would always be worth living!

Now known as Oh India. Krishna's was previously known as The Bengal. Before that the pub was called The Staffordshire Knot.
