Jolly Drover

Rogate, Chichester
24/01/2019: I have visited this pub on several occasions and have always found the staff very polite and welcoming. Lovely home cooked food with a good choice on the menu and in the winter a wonderful log fire. Would recommend a visit.
19/01/2019: I have visited this pub on a number of occasions and always found them to be very helpful and friendly. The food is good and a nice log fire welcomes you in the winter. Definitely recommended!

Durleighmarsh Tea Barn

Rogate, Chichester
14/12/2018: We happened across the farm shop when we saw a sign for Asparagus some years ago and I’ve been driving over regularly ever since. The pick you own fruits are great and the draw for me is the fresh fish stall in the car park on Wednesday and Saturday.
09/10/2018: We had been to Durleighmarsh Farm before to pick Pumpkins but this time we decided to stop for some lunch too. The food was lovely and the place has a very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. We sat for a while enjoying the autumn sunshine while we drank our tea and ate our sandwiches. The reason I haven't given five stars is that the service was quite slow and when were entered the cafe, despite staff looking up it took them a while to acknowledge or greet us. This left us standing awkwardly for nearly ten minutes waiting to order. We smiled and tried to say hello but the staff seemed a little rushed.

The Flying Bull Inn Restaurant

Rogate, Chichester, <20£
13/02/2019: Ten of us turned up one Saturday at 1pm after a hard MTB ride. We were made to feel very welcome and were very well looked after by the bar staff. We had such a good time that we all decided to stay longer. Great ambience, clean and friendly pub.
04/02/2019: Had a lovely meal here today. Member of our party became poorly and was unable to eat. Staff offered to parcel up her food and checked on her welfare. Helpful friendly staff and locals at the bar.

The Rising Sun

Rogate, Chichester
02/02/2019: We came to the Rising Sun, aka ‘The riser’, last Saturday night and had another fantastic meal. We¹ve eaten midweek lunches and dinners, Sunday lunch and now Saturday night and I can’t fault it, it¹s always been excellent (5 stars from the food hygiene folks too). They’ve hit the mark with the menu, a solid range of tastes and crafted plates so neither the prices or menu are daunting. The ambiance is chilled and informal yet efficient and the staff know what they are doing. All this said, it¹s still a proper pub with drinkers at the long bar, group tables and chairs, games and the papers in front of an open fire. It can get busy so I advise booking on weekends.
31/01/2019: This is a very comfortable pub, and the toilet was spotlessly clean. The beer and cider were well kept, and expertly poured. The three staff we saw were wary, rather than welcoming, and ignored every opportunity to interact with our party. The food, on the whole, was disappointing. The fish finger sandwiches were served without garnish, the fishcakes came with such a small portion of spinach that our colleague thought it was decoration, the portion of cheesy fries was minuscule, and the steak sandwich came naked, accompanied only by a few chips. The burger was the only lunch to satisfy. We will not be returning.

Rake Garden Centre

Rogate, Chichester
20/12/2018: Visited the cafe here today, very impressed, excellent food, freshly cooked and served, cheerful helpful staff well done, main meals looked good too will be back
09/07/2018: We were a family of 3, called in on the spur of the moment and thought it was ok. My son loved the chocolate cake but it was expensive. The staff were not very helpful and we would not rush back there for another coffee brunch..

The White Horse Inn

Rogate, Chichester
24/01/2019: Despite the hurdles we had an excellent meal....thank you the new chef Malachi we were a little apprehensive to eat there after past experience with the old chef have made the right choice was superb and services excellent
28/10/2018: The Roast we had had was quite delicious and the young waitress was excellent, very polite and attentive. Unfortunately we witnessed the chap, whom we believe is the Manager, refuse to serve food to a young family over a booking. He was very unprofessional and embarrassed himself. The poor family were obviously very upset. For a pub that this trying to get back on its feet after a period of closure he hasn't helped. We will eat there again as the food is wonderful. I hope that the family found somewhere to eat.
