Excellent food, very attentive and friendly staff.. Very pleasant atmosphere. Well maintained clean facilities. Highly recommend.

Drove past the pub and it looked so nice I had to try it. Went for dinner and was really hopeful as the building is beautiful. Sadly food got cold as plates were cold and I threw up when I got home. Great reviews overall so maybe I was just unlucky.

Five star roasts , we all had amazing roasts today - beef , pork belly ,chicken . Fabulous roast potatoes and perfect veg ! Yorkshires and gravy with for all Looking forward to the cozy log fire and lazy Sunday lunches .

My partner and I had the most amazing stay here. We stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding close by. The location is perfect, lovely and peaceful. The room was gorgeous, just as we expected from the photos and the continental breakfast was lovely too! This is a lovely pub and the staff are amazing! Thank you to Alex and the rest of the team for making us feel so welcome and our stay so special! Hope to be back soon! 😊

A lovely evening meal; the sea bream was an absolute triumph. Service was spot on, attentive and friendly, but not intrusively so. We stayed the night and the room was lovely, as was the huge en suite - lovely shower, and all maintained to a very high standard.

OMG the pub was heaving for Mother’s Day lunch today and yet we had very attentive and efficient service . Food was exceptional , special Mother’s Day menu - home made scotch egg and smoked mackerel pate , cauliflower soup starters 5 star. Mains , we had lemon sole with mussels and samphire instead of Sunday Roast , exquisite. Very talented young chef Luke .The White Horse goes from strength to strength . Highly recommend

Absolutely cracking pub with very friendly service. I’ve lived locally for many years and it is simply wonderful to see the pub open again. But - more than this - it’s vastly improved under the new ownership. Highly recommended for food, drinks & dog treats!

Wooden beams: vast 16th century fireplace: very good cooking of simple food: friendly ambience. Great that it reopened after being closed for a few years. Parking at the back - not all that well signposted, but lots of room!

Very relaxed Sunday lunch with local friends. Cosy winter ambience with roaring log fire and buzz of well fed customers . Lovely starters - fish cakes for some , salt & pepper squid for the others. Roasts were magnificent and delicious , thick pork slices with cracking , chicken , and nut roast with winter roast vegetables and Yorkshire puddings for all . Extra gravy too .! Just can’t wait to return next Sunday for a family gathering

The owners have really turned this pub around. We came for Sunday lunch and had a lovely time. The roasts were great and the owners and staff make you feel so welcome. The fire was on and the redecoration gives the pubs a lovely warm feel. A must visit for a Sunday!

A lovely pub with a nice atmosphere and a lovely fire. Good table service. Everyone was happy with their starters - I opted for the focaccia bread with oil but nearly choked as the balsamic vinegar was so strong. The main courses were all good - steaks were overcooked but still tasty. No room for puddings!

Absolutely love this pub. A huge addition to the local area. So cosy with delicious food - the service was fab too. We will be visiting a lot in the future!

This is a beautiful little pub, tastefully refurbished with 2 very impressive huge open fires. We stayed one night and had the Christmas lunch which was delicious. Generous portions and very tasty. The rooms were beautifully finished and the full English breakfast the next morning was great quality. The landlord and land lady have done an excellent job on this place which is warm and friendly and picture perfect.

Fabulous friendly staff especially the young lady wearing a ‘Christmas Tree Headband’ Yummy food and drinks, quick service. Comfy, cosy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely pub with such delicious food. We had a lovely family lunch with several friends too, enjoying a great sample of wine and beer, and an array of starters and mains which were simply excellent. Very friendly owner and staff, which created a brilliant atmosphere. Would definitely go again.

We came for the first time since the reopening and had the best Sunday lunch. The pub was busy and had a cosy fire inside. The food was delicious - tender roast beef and our friend had the best fish and chips she’s had in a long time. The owner really makes this pub - he was so welcoming and made the pub feel like home. We can’t wait to return to this brilliant village pub!
