29/08/2018: Great food, good portions, characterful and helpful staff, great garden (watch out for low door) lots of parking

Onslow Arms

Plaistow, Chichester
19/09/2018: Table booked for seven and it was ready for us. Very busy pub feeding those who were coming off or going on the canal trip so a captive audience. My friends said the scampi was good as was the pasta dish. However the sausage and mash left a lot to be desired (taken home for the dog) and my sandwich too full of fatty bacon. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and food came quite quickly. Quite expensive for what we had a sandwich for £6.95 (bacon, brie and cranberry) with a side salad (nearly all lettuce) and stale crisps
17/09/2018: On a bright sunny day we settled at a table in the garden. The flower border had recently been planted in a generous amount of compost which sadly had been placed directly on top of the weeds.

Half Moon Pub

Plaistow, Chichester
17/08/2018: Quirky pub as we stopped for a quick drink and sandwich. The ham sandwich was ok but the salad accompaniment was far from fresh! Now I know that negative reviews often get a reaction suggesting complaining at the time so my wife did precisely that - she stated that she wasn’t impressed by salad that gone slimey. The response was “the one that got away”! Not the best response to a complaint!
25/05/2018: We, my wife and I, stopped here by chance for lunch. The bar (walls and ceilings) are covered in many implements. We ordered food and drink. during our entire stay in the pub not a single other customer came in. In due course the food arrived: a ploughman's and a cheese and ham toastie. The toastie had a thick piece of ham, clearly hand carved, with tasty cheese. The ploughman's came with good bread and a large piece of cheese. Where it not for the place remaining empty we would rave about the place. However, I can thoroughly recommend the place

07/06/2018: Popped in today for a large cappuncino and a home cooked ham and chutney panini. Delicious tasting panini that was served with lettuce and tomato plus crisps, Definitely will return when in the area again. Definitely would recommend.
22/01/2018: dropped into here for some bacon and milk and stopped for a coffee. very nice and cosy with locals coming in for breakfast and to read the paper!
