The best restaurants serving Default food in Atherton Wigan North West

Very disappointed! We got there and was excited to eat here as it was recommended. When we got to the man behind the bar he wasn’t very welcoming., as we was looking through the menu we got some poppadoms we asked for lime pickle, he seemed angry at this like he couldn’t be arsed! We then came to ordering and we got some starters which was nice but the lamb chops were tough but my prawns were ok. I asked a few questions about the dishes and wanted to have a bit of spice. He told me that it would be spicy enough! I like spicy which he didn’t know but assumed, AND to top it off we got mushroom rice which was so bland with TINNED mushrooms. I don’t normally write bad reviews as sometime people have an off day but the amount of problems we had I felt I had to. He didn’t even apologise and almost argued with me. Whenever we visit hospitals in this area weather permitting we visit the gardens and the tea room. The food despite earlier comments is good. Had a lamb kebab wrap and coffee and the price is as expected just under the 10 pound mark plus coffee. It's in a lovely setting, very popular and very friendly. It's basically street food in a park setting. A fabulous change on a nice day.

The food was good quality and well cooked. Great value for money. Helpful, friendly staff. Very clean, nice atmosphere. We would definitelycome again

Never had a prob with food but i am not happy with how I was treated. I was told 45-1 hr for food I ordered a chicken burger and chips that is all. I rang up after waiting 1hr 10 mins they said exactly what they normally say which is the shop has been busy the food will be leaving the shop in 2 mins. So I said I have been waiting over time already and it’s going to take about 15 mins to get to me, so I said I’m going to go to bed so he was like ok I will cancel it and put phone down. No sorry no chat about bringing my food. So I messaged Uber eats and there just as bad as they charged me the full price £10.29 for the food that I didn’t received. I have spent a fortune at this place and so has my family but I constantly give them chances time and time again waiting up to 2.30 for our food. I do not like complaining but I feel I was treated so poorly and they just didn’t care. So I will not step a foot in that place nor will my friends or family again. Stay away if you want food when hungry long waiting times.

I usually go for their fantastic cooked chicken. On my last visit bought half a chicken and a couple of containers of their home cooked potato hash, both were delicious and would highly recommend this little shop.
