Whenever we visit hospitals in this area weather permitting we visit the gardens and the tea room. The food despite earlier comments is good. Had a lamb kebab wrap and coffee and the price is as expected just under the 10 pound mark plus coffee. It's in a lovely setting, very popular and very friendly. It's basically street food in a park setting. A fabulous change on a nice day.

Asked the guy on the food truck (which is what it is, not a tea room) if he could do a salad wrap (there are wraps on the menu and salad). I don’t usually ask for things that aren’t on the menu but the vegetarian choice wasn’t huge and I thought a salad wrap was a simple ask. He looked at me as though I’d asked for the moon on a stick and suggested he do a vegetable wrap. When the “vegetable” wrap came it was a pile of soggy shredded white cabbage with three slices of pepper. Had one bite and I’m not even sure why I did that as it did not look appetising. As suspected it wasn’t nice at all and I didn’t eat it. My daughter had an nduga panini which had a minuscule amount of meat on it. My mum insisted on taking the wrap back and was met with a shrug. For the prices they’re charging it’s not very impressive at all.

I suppose when you eat out in East Didsbury you expect to pay a little extra, but it was bit disappointing at the prices charged for what effectively is an outdoor food wagon and some tables. Don't get me wrong, there is a good choice for brunch or lunch, it's just prices are a little high. My vegetarian sausage barm was great, but for what I had I feel I was short changed. Am guessing in the summer this place is a great stop regardless of its prices.

Amazing! The lights, the bunting, reminds me of an outdoor cafe in Thailand. The menu choices are incredible given the tiny mobile catering vans.

Great service, great location but also great food. Had the steak and Stilton sub and it was just so yummy. Perfect weekend lunch treat.

Its a real shame, first the area is amazing, especially for walks! what lets the temporary stand is the food! Its not that is taste awful or anything its that its SO BASIC! for the price they charge and for what you get its terrible. Way to expensive! Snacks are expensive! We could easily prop a van up and charge a lot less and make twice as much money. Were not going to stop going as we go for the park not the tearoom, we just will never touch the food again.

Now under new management - a huge improvement. The food and drink offer under the old regime was rather uninspiring. When the sun is out is there a nicer corner in south Manchester for a bit to eat?

Temporary cafe set up outdoors just beside the cafe itself. Plenty of park benches around to sit on. Good selection of cakes and drinks. Very questionable hygiene from staff member at drinks station. Not good in covid times Won’t go again I’m afraid

Expensive for cup (not even a pot) of tea and disappointing scone. The scone was very bizarre (not even a scone) and there was a very limited selection of cakes which had virtually sold out by 11am mid week. The decor and surroundings were spartan. The only toilets are outside and round the corner with no hand washing facilities in the ladies toilet. Would not recommend.

This has been recently taken over and tidied up and is, as ever, a lovely atmospheric place for a bite ot eat and a cuppa (savoury snacks, cakes and a huge selection of teas.) A great deal of effort has gone into the cafe recently and it is currently open every day. It is great to have a walk in the lovely meadow area and to finish with a visit to the cafe where you can eat inside or out, overlooking the gardens. I hope people will support this cafe and the friendly staff who are running it as it is a wonderful facitily to sit and relax and contemplate the lovely surrounding area.

Missed opportunity with this cafe in such a perfect spot. Opens at 10.30 so walked up the ramp towards the open door, but it was literally slammed in my face!! as I am disabled this was not helpful, so returned to wait at a table, and a few minutes later the door opened again, so returned to try again. The entrance hall is disgusting, filthy dirty looks like it has not been cleaned or tided for months. Asked for Cappuccino and a pot of tea, told only filter coffee, so was served a tray with two mugs, one with coffee, the other water with a tea bag. Returned to the seats, my friend asked me to taste the coffee, it was unidentifiable as anything close to coffee, it was disgusting, my tea was not much better. I cannot believe as a former owner of bars and restaurants how in 2018 such a perfect spot can serve such rubbish, wake up and taste your own coffee and hire a cleaner.

Nice cafe in great gardens, lovely for a leisurely cup of tea after a walk along the Mersey River. We often stop at the cafe for a rest after a walk and to get ice creams, my son loves that you can get flake and sherbet toppings. Nice little tea room not much inside, could be made more homely, but better to sit outside in good weather and look over the rockery gardens. There is often a selection of homemade cakes, not much choice but it is only a small place and there's enough for a break and sit down. Reasonable prices and lovely local asset.

The position of this cafe and its association with the RSPB means that this place could be really special. Its not, sadly. There's so much that could be done with a little care and imagination . I still come here purely because of the location. Cards not accepted :-(

Disappointing , no ice , no milk , only takeaway a full 25 mins before closure was advised to use the one across the road as they are open later 25 minutes before they advertise as closed !!!

We go there because we know a lot of people who go in there, it's quite big so no worries about somewhere to sit & there's a pool table
