The best restaurants serving Default food in Harrington Allerdale North West

Great place for relaxing family meal, excellent menu choice and great service. The butchers block and steak burger were amazing. Will definitely visit again soon.

Thank you so much for making our meal for our 40th wedding anniversary with our friends so memorable. The standard of food was superb and presentation exceptional, this was down to the dedication of the team in the kitchen and their mentors . The service we received from the young man (clover) was outstanding and he should be rightly proud as the rest of the serving team and mentors should be. £21 yes £21 for a three course restaurant meal and expirience. When we are next up this way on holiday we shall most definately be booking a lunch and will recommend to our family and friends. Finally a big thankyou for the marvellous cake which you presented to us. It was delicious and again a reflection of the superb team you have at the college including the your booking collegue. We stayed at the hotel on Saturday night and decided to have dinner in the restaurant, after reading the reviews I wasn't expecting much, how wrong we were, we had the Scallops starter, I had Sea Bass, my wife had baked Cod for our mains and it was top quality, we have eaten in some of the best restaurants in this country and abroad and this was right up there if not better, hats off to the new Chef, brilliant work. Also a big thank you to Barry the hotel manager who works his socks off and looked after us.

Warm welcome and good beer at a good price

We had booked, on walking in it didn’t feel like it used to. Eaten here many times and had some lovely meals but tonight was the last time we will visit. Staff friendly and one of the female bar staff was quite apologetic and concerned. Ordered two black pudding stacks it was tasty but the poached egg on top was over cooked and not looking too good. Black pudding over cooked and crispy. We managed to eat it. Mains a rolled pork loin with black pudding and apple sauce. Sauce terrible and the pork that was advertised as pan fried had never seen a frying pan as a result the pork was very tough and difficult to even cut. Mine was a 4 hour slow cooked lamb the shame of it the meat was a good quality but had never seen 4 hours in the oven or maybe they forgot to turn it on. It was maybe cooked in an air fryer or cooked fast in the oven I had to ask for a steak knife to try and eat it. I was so disappointed. We told the waitress we were disappointed and she shrugged her shoulders when I said we won’t be back she said that’s up to you! I said not quite the right attitude as she walked into the kitchen. The other poor waitress was mortified she was sent to say sorry by the cook but really the cook should have come and said sorry herself. We were offered a replacement but we had waited quite a while for this and no course had shown promise so declined. They did remove the two mains from the bill. What a real shame

Regularly stay here whilst working away from home and always have a brilliant stay. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food is always perfect and filling, including the breakfast! There's also a great 3km lap for a morning run with beautiful views. I thoroughly enjoy staying here.

Suitable for modern business needs

Great to be back in Workington Golf Club dining again. It has been a while without the restaurant being open but now it is back in business. 😊. The staff are all very helpful and obliging and the food is great. (Desserts are amazing.) Give it a go. 👍😍😊.

A little expensive but very nice food

They have got lots of choices of food. We had chicken fillets Burritos. Nice Burritos , will order again.

Thats the third time we have used this Burger King, the previous 2 trips we waited for so long for our food, and only 1 car in front of us, today we decided to time it, 2 cars then us, 28 MINUTES!!! and when we got to the hatch to collect our food we still had to wait another 10 minutes, Burger King is supposed to be fast food, if they were any slower it would be past its use by date!! RIDICULOUS!!
