Excellent for Afternoons Tea. Great food. Comfortable surroundings. And helpful and friendly staff. We’ve had a lovely afternoon and we would definitely come back again. RECOMMENDED.

Bought 2 cinnamon and sugar pretzels, came home to find out i was eating only bread. Hardly any cinnamon or sugar on it..when you pay £11 for 2 pretzels with no taste…yes you write a bad review and never buy again… complete rip off…

Desde un horroroso personal, con atroz modales, este agradable restaurante pasó de un respetable indios a un hortera y cliché 'italiano'. La comida estaba mal hechas y demasiado caro, el personal era vago, desorganizado y grosero, el ambiente era muy ruidoso, odioso y atractiva. La decoración estaba sucio y tenía el atractivo de un complejo turístico barato. Si el lugar abre de nuevo, espero que para una nueva dirección. Si ve el mismo personal, yo recomiendo ir a cualquier otro restaurante en Upper Street, hasta las tiendas de Kebabs sería una experiencia mejor.

This was one of my favourite coffee shop in Islington and it has closed down (and moved to Tottenham Court Road). The staff was friendly and polite and the coffee was really strong and nice.

Jiji successfully combines and modernises the best traditions of two cultures- Japanese and Mediterranean - to create an outstanding and distinctive cuisine. The food ranges from excuisite sushi to subtle tasty vegetable dishes (the cauliflower is an unlikely triumph). You could describe it as ‘fusion’, but so much lazy nonsense takes that label, and Jiji is on another level. The wines and cocktails are also superb. All of this happens in a modern Japanese take on an Art Deco dining room. (Don’t miss the monkeys in the loos - it’s all a bit White Lotus). On the basis of several visits, Jiji is hugely enjoyable and thoroughly recommended.

The pastries and drinks were delicious 🤤 We also had one of their focaccia sandwiches, was so yummy and filling! Definitely would be visiting again to try their pistachio icecrone.

Advertised lunch time special but was told the option was not available. Supposed to be on offer Monday to Friday and when we queried it, we were told it was not available. We left in disgust and will not be back

Hemos comido en este restaurante durante muchos años y últimamente durante los últimos meses las patatas fritas y los calamares son simplemente asquerosos. Cada vez seguimos preguntando al personal si había un chef diferente en la cocina y cada vez que la respuesta era "no, siempre es lo mismo". El domingo pasado por la tarde, 11/8 20019, personalmente me molesté mucho y me sentí tratado como un perro, ya que mis patatas fritas estaban muy mal cocinadas y los calamares también. Las papas fritas en este lugar siempre han sido de una calidad congelada muy mala y, además, imagínense si se sirven duramente y demasiado cocidas (y cada vez es exactamente el caso). Simplemente no puedo describir los calamares es simplemente horrible e inaceptable. Simplemente no sabemos por qué este restaurante está perdiendo lentamente la buena calidad que una vez conocimos. ¡Es muy triste!

Love it here, the best French toast I’ve found in London. The almond croissants are to die for. Lovely family run business, service impeccable. Can’t understand the previous reviews as have never had that experience. The baguettes 🥖 are light and fluffy just like from a local French boulangerie. Highly recommend! Oh also their bespoke birthdays cakes are super fresh and tasty too.

Chicken in burger really small and thin. Very expensive compared to other chicken burgers available. No drink with meal just fries. Tasty though

Vine aquí para el cumpleaños de mi amigo había alrededor de 15 de nosotros. La configuración del restaurante es animada, el personal era amable y nos recibió con entusiasmo. Primero tomamos una copa mientras preparaban nuestra mesa y tienen una buena selección de vinos, así que el grupo estaba entusiasmado con eso. Nos sentamos, tienen una oferta de 2 o 3 cursos para 22 o 25, lo que fue una gran opción para nosotros. Todos estaban contentos con su comida, desde el comienzo: algunos tenían pato, otros tenían vieiras. Tuve las vieiras y estaba asombrado, solo quería más! Luego, llegaron los platos principales, ¡pedí el bacalao con la mejor salsa! No puedo esperar a volver y tenerlo de nuevo. ¡Todos se emocionaron con su comida y se enojaron al final! jaja. Gracias a Jones & Sons Angel por la deliciosa comida, el ambiente y el excelente servicio. También estoy pensando en celebrar mi cumpleaños allí, así que definitivamente reservaré eso.

Le Mercury is suspended in time…. And with that it maintains its charm. I used to frequent Le Mercury around 15 years ago for affordable dates and with large groups. It’s pretty much stayed the same since then. The food is acceptable.. and they’ve managed to maintain competitive prices. There are lots of cosy spaces to enjoy a romantic meal or intimate meal with friends. The wine is also decent for the prices as well. It’s become an Islington institution and I was glad to see it’s still on the high street.

Too many low life hanging around outside, not nice..beggars city! 😖

Reminded me why I usually look up restaurants before trying them out. Went here with 2 friends, cocktail jug during happy hour basically had zero alcohol in it (yes even at the bottom). Food was ok at best but certainly not worth the price. £25 for a sad looking sirloin steak isn't a good deal. The staff were fine although the pushy waiter at the end with his QR code to give a good review was a bit awkward. I'm not one to cause a big fuss about a bad restaurant experience unless the food was inedible which it wasn't. It's just not a place I'd recommend, especially on this high street where there's 100 better options

Food was excellent, (the steak in particular) and staff were very friendly, would recommend to others visiting the area.
