British Patagonia in Islington

We saw this place on instagram and that they served the vegan/plant based croissant ice cream cones. It did not disappoint! We had the vanilla and pistachio flavour. Both tasted amazing but the vanilla in particular! Would highly recommend to plan a visit as a vegan in London

The cone croissant is a half croissant, with a finger dig hole to create space for a soft ice cream. The idea is nice and it looks amazing, however, the croissant is not crispy, the ice cream is not tasty (to me clearly) and it is incredibly overpriced. 7.5£ plus 1.5 topping. My votes: looks 9, taste 3, price 3. I would not buy again, nor recommend.

It was my birthday today and I celebrated with my daughter and my only child. I had the croissant cone with mixed chocolate and vanilla icecream with mixed nuts and mixed sauces. Now I know why people wait in long queues for this dessert. Its delicious and no other business makes or sells this dessert. This dessert was worth the wait for me and my daughter. I recommend this place for its dessert. Especially the croissant cone with icecream.

We drove an hour to try the new croissant ice creams that this place offers to be told they they have run out of croissants and therefore they could not give us any. They told us that if we came back in an hour they would have baked a fresh batch and we could get one then. We decided to wait and came back an hour later, only to be told that they did not make enough croissants and they have all been sold (there had only been a few people in front of us in the que). When we told them that we were disappointed as we had come all the way up here and we’re told we could get some in an hour, the lady at the front of the desk was very rude and sarcastic with an attitude. They were not apologetic at all and did not care that they had disappointed customers and were not making anywhere near enough of the products that they claim to serve all day. On top of that, they leave all of the toppings and ice cream out on a small table outside of the cafe unoccupied which was not kept covered or clean from insects or anything. We would not advise coming here and would certainly not go back.

We visited based on the vegan pastry hype, and while the pastries were great, there were a few negatives too. First the positives-the huge selection of pastries available vegan or non. I had a vegan pain au choc and it was very tasty. Service was pretty friendly too. On the flip side, the drinks were mixed, some crazy expensive and didn’t live up to expectations (no hint of Black Forest in the Black Forest hot choc). Next time I’d ask for the pastry warmed up, it definitely would have been better. And lots of people were settled in on laptops, which made it feel more like being at the office than chilling on a weekend. Would go again to grab the pastries to go, wouldn’t get drinks or stay in.
