The best restaurants serving Default food in Berkhamsted West Dacorum East of England

Ususally have takeaways from local restaurants. My neighbour recommended the Akash. The food was excellent well cooked abnd on time when I went to collect it. Will definately be usuing the Akash in the future.

Very tasty food and a good cosy place to sit with friends and family

Walked in for a takeout nobody came to counter for ages. Ordered a chilli masala and in 30 years of eating Indian food I’ve never had a masala with onions and peppers in it. It was full of them. It’s usually a thick sauce with no veg bar the green chillies as they advertised. I don’t know how they managed to have green chillies without any heat to them it was very mild dish. Garlic naan had no garlic on from what I could taste. Overall poor bland takeaway two mains one rice one bread was £25

It’s hard to see why any legitimate shop would be cash only these days. I expect it puts off a few customers like it put me off.

worst customer service, been going for years, and was treated with disrespect and misogynistic behaviour from staff, very disappointed as food was good

The delivery driver had difficulty finding my house . He phoned when he was outside and I told him he was at the house and to come out and turn left . He came to my back door and I pointed out where the front door was . While he passed me the food in a terse manner he said ‘ what difference does it make - you have your food?’ To which I replied - ‘ don’t be so rude !’ He then told me to F off ! I phoned the manager to tell him what had happened and told him I would never order food from them again , He replied ‘no problem’. Apart from that - the food is overpriced and ordinary whereas two years ago it was reasonably priced and very good .

If you like Indian cuisine that the food is just great!!!!

We ordered a chicken kebab with salad and a donner meat and chips with salad while we were up visiting family. It was late night and most other places were closed. They delivered to our hotel- rang Jen they were there and I met them outside in the car park- a few minutes late. The chicken kebab was good, small pieces of chicken in a good, well spiced marinade. The donner meat was well cooked and seasoned as were the chips. Good salad on both with cabbage, onions, pickled chillis, tomatoes and cucumber. Glad our usual kebab place (in Aston Clinton) no longer exists because I was happy with this takeaway!
