The best restaurants serving British food in South Wales

Absolutely brilliant. I booked for a hen party. We did the cocktail master class with Igli. What a laugh! We all loved it. Highly recommended. I would definitely do it again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered an afternoon high tea and a savoury yesterday, the food was lovely plenty of filling in the sandwiches, I phoned to say something was missing from the high tea and in no time it was reckifed , but not just one item they sent more. First class service as always, have ordered Sunday roast dinners for tomorrow which in sure will be excellent thanks royal mail

Es un restaurante bien presentado. Es precioso por dentro y la comida estaba riquísima y a un precio razonable. El personal era muy amable y acogedor. Nunca tuvimos la oportunidad de probar un flan pero no cabe duda de que volveremos en nuestra próxima visita!!

Now using cheap nasty food and still charging the same as when they were using quality ingredients. Very disappointed.

Walking group had our Christmas meal here. The meal was very nice with all the trimmings and all homemade, the Christmas pudding also very nice with plenty of hot sauce, The two courses with tea and coffee included was very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and nothing to much trouble. Would recommend their meals at anytime not just at Christmas.

Tasted as good as it looked and it looked wonderful. Very friendly and helpful service. My mother was delighted with it.

Amazing coffee, amazing decor, amazing cakes and food and amazing staff with a welsh theme too boot. Always got soya milk for me and the range of excellent sandwiches I’d fab. My favourite is the avocado on toast with chilli jam 💕

I've been dragging my friend on a burger tour of Cardiff for a few months now. We've gone to some of the most recommended spots in town. I can honestly say, without exaggeration or hyperbole, that this was not only the best burger I've ever eaten, but one of the best meals I've had in my life - and that includes my grandmother's cooking. I knew the reviews were good. I knew that the restaurant owners owned the butcher's and the farm too, so I was prepared to enjoy myself. I was genuinely unprepared for just how good the food tasted. I could use phrases like "melt-in-the-mouth", "bursting with flavour", or "perfectly balanced", but I wouldn't be doing it justice. You have to experience it for yourself. The only burger I've had that came close was a lamb burger served on the farm where the animal had been slaughtered that morning. The freshness and quality of the ingredients here, from the homemade buns to the inspired toppings to the tender, juicy meat itself, are immediately apparent. I was both completely satisfied and could not get enough. I'm going to be dragging my friends and family here every chance I get - this place must stay open, it is a genuine Cardiff institution and Welsh national treasure. Again, I'm not exaggerating. P.S. This is our fourth breakfast at Ambiance. Every time the food is wonderful and great value for money. I really want to come back for lunch and dinner to sample the rest of the menu. Great coffee too.

First visit today to Lily’s hideaway and it did not disappoint. We had the savoury and sweet afternoon tea which was amazing and very generous. The staff were fabulous, very welcoming and attentive. The garden area was lovely and there was plenty of shade. Would definitely recommend

The Hot Pantry is the perfect place for fresh comfort food. Their Dragon Pies and Custard slices are to die for! Good prices compared to a lot of bakeries too.
