The best restaurants serving British food in Shifnal North Shropshire West Midlands

1st time visit after major refurbishment. Owned by Black Country Ales with a great selection of ales, along with a good range of lagers and ciders, all very resonabley priced. Staff friendly and accommodating, and although very busy, the wait was more than acceptable. It appears that the only food available is cobs, pork pies, and the usual bar snacks. No Sky Sports, which is quite refreshing for a change you're able to have a conversation without having to shout to be heard. Decent amount of tables outside, so if the weather is half decent, you're able to sit outside and enjoy it, dog friendly as well. Great experience, and it's good to know you can go and have a beer with family or friends with a really good atmosphere, and the ale trail is a great touch to boost a little or a lot of extra trade.

Not being a golfer dined at this restaurant for Sunday Lunch with a large party.The ambiance/quality of the furnishings(including the chandeliers) is impressive.We paid £17.95 for 3 courses.A sign on the bar declared 25% discount for 19th January.This was for members only and I think mgt need to advertise this to members some other way... The service was very good.We were happy with the food.except the creme brulé which was runny. Some confusion over diners who opted for the 3 courses on the day paying more than those who had prebooked was unfortunate.I think they should also include coffee/tea in the package...makes it easier for larger parties All in all it is a lovely venue..inevitably very adult environment..which lends itself to special occasions.If I could play golf I would join the club.
