We had a midweek overnight stay and cannot fault our experience. Very well run pub , excellent room beautifully decorated and a fine breakfast in the morning. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again when in the area

No draught lager, so a pint of shandy cost £6 as you had to pay for a bottle of lager and a lemonade Carvery itself was underwhelming. Frozen Yorkshire puddings are always a bit of a let down. £16 for a large roast dinner which wasn't particularly large. It just meant you can have 2 of the 4 meats (1 slice of each) Beef overcooked, pork looked very fatty. Turkey was ok. Cauliflower cheese was raw. Gravy wasn't very good. Roast potatoes looked deep fried and weren't very nice. The leek gratin was very nice though. Wouldn't go again unfortunately.
