Stayed here for two nights for a wedding in the tithe barn. The barn is beautiful and the wedding organiser was brilliant. Unfortunately we cannot say the same for the staff or the rooms in the hotel. Their ‘family’ rooms are all on the top floor, up three flights of rickety stairs as it is an old building! This was a nightmare with our baby and toddler. There was also no bath in the room (only a shower) so no way to easily bathe the baby. The mattress on the bed was rock hard and you could feel all the springs. I’ve slept on comfier beds on cheap caravan holidays. Worst of all, the room wasn’t clean. There were flies buzzing around, cobwebs everywhere with spiders in and a swarm of ladybirds had made their home on the windowsill, right next to the head of the bed. Clearly the window area hadn't been cleaned for a while, or surely the staff would have noticed and dealt with the ladybirds. The curtain rail was broken so you couldn’t close the curtains properly and the room was flooded with light at the crack of dawn. The bathroom door didn’t close unless you pushed it really hard, which was dangerous with our toddler. Oh and I cut my foot getting out of the shower as the edge was uneven. The whole room just felt tired and neglected. I would have asked to move rooms but had already been informed (when questioning the room we had been allocated) that the other family rooms were occupied. When I informed them on checkout about the cleanliness and the insects, I had no apology just an ‘Oh ok’ They also tried to overcharge me for the room! At the prices they charged I was really disappointed and would definitely not return to stay overnight. Bear in mind if you are booking your wedding there that the guest rooms do NOT match the high standard of the wedding barn itself.

My wife and I stayed for 2 night, expecting evening meals and breakfast as we were visiting Wells and Bath and Yeovil . I think it was a lovely pub at one time but not now. It did no food closed most nights , we visited other pubs for our meals very disappointing stay and would not recommend anyone to stay I think it will possibly close down very shortly.
