The best restaurants serving British food in Aylesford Tonbridge and Malling South East

I came here with friends for lunch and on the menu was a Caesar salad.. it didn’t have the option to add chicken on the menu, despite me asking about what it is. So £9 for lettuce, croutons and a bit of cheese.. so I returned it and was told to pay an extra £2 for chicken?! For a small ‘family’ cafe this is awful and when I said that £9 for that was unfair.. the staff member responded with.. ‘Well you obviously don’t know how much it costs to run a buisness’ which I found frankly unprofessional and RUDE! I responded saying ‘you don’t know what I do for work, but this is not okay to charge that’ And she responded ‘Well I would pay that so it’s tough’ Honestly how unprofessional. I’ve been coming here ages.

We booked for a family afternoon tea, for around 50 people. We had plates of sandwiches and cakes, really lovely quality bread used and fillings were really nice. The coffee and tea were served in lovely cups and saucers with lovely tiered cake stands. The service was amazing, the servers polite and attentive. We are really grateful to Natalie the catering manager for such a lovely spread, so accommodating. The table cloths were beautiful, white laundered and the Pilgrims Hall itself is really lovely. If you are thinking of a place to hold a celebration do enquire, it was really good value for money and everyone commented on the quality of the food and drinks. My thanks to Kirsty for organising and being great at staying in touch to arrange the details. Plenty of parking and lovely walks around the Priory to walk off the lovely cakes. ❤️

Very disappointed! We pre-booked for new year eve evening meal which was a set menu and time, meal booked for 7.30 had to find a member of staff to serve us 30 mins later. Couldn't find our booking. Food looked and tasted like it had been reheated, meal took about 2 hrs by the time we got our dessert, forgot the bottle of wine we ordered. The service had spoilt the whole evening, after complaining at least we got the wine taken if the bill and a free glass of fizz. But considering we had paid 40.00 deposit for the four of us and then presented with a 150+ bill it was a disgrace.
