The George Inn is a lovely pub with great staff and delicious food. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the quality of the food is reflected in the price. It is a great autumn/winter pub (I imagine it's a glorious spring/summer pub, but I just love the fires). We visited on Sunday 10th Nov 24 to celebrate my dad's birthday, it was also Remembrance Sunday. As you can imagine Sunday lunch is popular, so book in advance. Please please please take note of one thing that the pub and team itself do not have direct control of - the clientele. Particularly the apparent military locals, who of course have significantly higher standing than anyone else in society. I recommend the pub fully, just proceed with caution if you are noise sensitive or have an aversion to arrogant individuals that believe only their experience matters. They suggested they are military and Remembrance Sunday is for them and no one else. Frankly, their inability to manage their children's behaviour and volume ruined the experience. They wanted to make sure they knew we are local, with that in mind, if you happen to be there when Captain Arrogant and co are there, make sure you are seated nowhere near them, they are entirely anti-social.

We ate three breakfasts and suppers and enjoyed the bar as well during our three-night stay. I have to say with all honesty everything was always perfect, from the food to the service. The ambience of the manor also creates a positive mood, classic yet relaxed. We also enjoyed seating outdoors with relaxing green views.

We called in for a pub lunch after 40 years since we last visited as we was based in the camp just up the road. And it was one of our local pubs, not a lot changed but I do say maybe a few landlord's. Brought a few memoirs back to us all. Very friendly landlord's Man n Wife team the ploughmans lunch was well proportioned and very tasty the beverages had a good choice. Loverly village pub well worth the visit recommend. Only thing I can find fault with is parking limited but no fault of the pub . Also has loverly beer garden when weather permits which it did for us. We will be back next year for our reunion see you then.
