The best restaurants serving British food in Portchester East Fareham South East

As always Diane was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious and quick to arrive. Would recommend.

Darcy’s is a place I had never experienced before, but after the recent death of my grandfather, who used to frequent there a lot… My mum and I decided to go with some friends to have brunch and keep the tradition going. I had only ever heard good things, so was looking forward to brunching there. Once we had all decided what we were having, we queued and were met at the till by an unsmiling member of staff, with quite a frosty attitude…A mature lady with short grey/white spiky hair and make-up. I don’t know whether the lady in question had had a bad day… But the customer service wasn’t the best… It made me feel quite uncomfortable and like I had done something wrong, even though I was only trying to order my panini, coffee and cold drink… She was quite short in her answers and just didn’t seem very happy to serve. Apart from this, the food was very nice albeit slightly pricey and we had a lovely time. The only other small criticism I will say, is that when I ordered my coffee, I was not asked if I wanted sugar/sweeteners etc… And there was no sugar etc available on tables… As you can imagine from my experience, I didn’t dare ask!! I just paid and went. We will return in future to keep my Gramps tradition alive, but it would be nice to feel comfortable when ordering in future and be simply met with a smile and kind attitude :)

I had never been here before and called in on the off chance of lunch. They were busy, but we were seated quickly and given excellent service. The staff were friendly and the chicken pie and fish cakes were lovely. We’ll definitely return.

Food is nice but the reason why I rated it a 1star Is because hygiene rated 1/5 so me personally I'm NEVER having it Again SO DONT HAVE IT!!!!!
