The best restaurants serving British food in Alston Moor Eden North West

Having been informed that this hotel is to close permanently we booked in for a night with Dinner- 7 course taster menu with wine and Bed and Breakfast. The service was excellent and the food sublime. The chef excelled with his choice of dishes.

Very welcoming, friendly and efficient service. Good wholesome food. Good choice for veggies and vegans. Lovely setting.

One night here for my birthday! Lovely old hotel, nice big room, nice bathroom with bathtub! Views across the valley with snow when we woke up! Alston is a nice little market Town surrounded by stunning countryside. Friendly staff. Nice and clean everywhere. We had a nice home cooked meal in the restaurant. Steak and ale pie, Thai green curry, home made profiteroles! Nice Cumbrian breakfast. Highly recommended.

Came for lunch after a freezing rainy windy section of the C2C and the staff could not have been more lovely, they lit us a fire to dry our things and fed us very well- cannot thank them enough! Would highly recommend the food too!

Horrendous food, my chicken looked anaemic, bland vegetables and all round no good won’t be returning, over priced for the produce used.
