This really may be the best most warm hearted cafe in London, if not the UK. There is a whole page of breakfast choices, from standard greasy spoon to vegan, all beautifully cooked and with clever extras - the Full Irish comes with a mug of Irish tea and toasted brown soda bread. It is quirky to the Nth degree - most diners will first have to move teddy bears or other soft toys to sit down - which could be irritating, but with the extraordinarily warm welcome for all comers is very much part of its charm. This is a formica table place, not at all grand, but the many thoughtful touches include a whole bundle of charger cables to fit every shape of phone. Making guests feel like family is a much abused cliche, but here they really achieve it

Surely everybody loves The Courtauld?! With one of the best Impressionist collections in the world, all in one room, it is always a joy to visit. This recent visit was to see the Monet paintings of London. Wow, what a collection! Absolutely tremendous.

7 of us went to dinner at this lovely Pub and building from 1855. The place is lovely and some of the food is ok. Service was pretty shocking. Most starters were ok but 2 Cauliflower soup and smoked mackerel pate were poor. The soup was thicker than my Smoke Mackerel pate. Pretty flavourless for both. Main courses of sea bass ( 6 of us had it) and the monkfish and prawn curry were excellent. When we asked for the desert menu we were told the kitchen was closed and no deserts available. We sat down at 8 pm and were looking for deserts at half 9. Not to be told the kitchen was closing on a Saturday night is embarrassing and very poor. Lame excuses made. Needs to do better.

Visited yesterday, a sunny Sunday at 12.10pm. Greeted by 2 gentlemen that I will refer to as Mr Grumpy no1 and Mr Grumpy no2. "Good afternoon."I wished them. "Have you booked" asked no 1. "No, sorry, we would like to eat in the garden please" The garden is closed for the winter " added no 2. We then went to The Duke of Sussex around the corner, where we had a fantastic lunch. (Please see my review). I hope that these people are lucky enough to be able to turn away custom, but I doubt this when you hear about pubs closing down regularly.
