The best restaurants in Pontnewydd Torfaen South Wales

Just had a delightful afternoon with friends at Trios, Pontnewydd, for afternoon tea. The welcome was warm, the service was first class. We were reminded of having tea with our grandmothers because there was bone china and starched tablecloths. The finger sandwiches were very tasty, the warm scones melted in our mouths and the cakes were delicious. We drank copious cups of tea and coffee and didn’t stop talking and laughing. We will have to return to there for a spot of spoiling !

Great service, friendly staffs and delicious food. What more could you ask for! We went on a sat morning. Lovely cute vintage decor and great selection of food on the menu. It won’t be long before we come back ：）they also do pudding club and wedding orders.

First meal from there this evening - excellent food and extra-mile service. The Gosht Katta was outstanding. Saffron Kitchen deserves its awards.

We were really looking forward to a fish and chip dinner. Two mouthfuls and it went in the bin. Greasy and soggy chips, dry fish (even the dog didn't want it). Food seemed like it had been left over since lunch time. Absolutely gross.

Turned up here quite late and the buffet was finished .. the staff though let us sit in the restaurant and cooked us dishes . Lovely friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Food was very good. As the only people In the restaurant I can't say about the atmosphere so gave it 5 Stars anyway because it's clean and beautifully decorated.

This place needs closing down. It's disgusting rubbish with flies and maggots in the salad. And to be fair I think the cook is a fob.fresh off the boat in Kent. Avoid this place if you respect yourself and the United Kingdom.

Absolutely brilliant birthday meal for a family of 8 adults and 6 kids. Service and food was excellent. Staff were absolutely lovely, polite couldn't do enough. The staff that were amazing were Paul, Anthony and Michelle. I asked for the chefs name as my steak was perfectly cooked, thanks chef Dave. We will be back soon. Keep up the good work. To be honest the chips are like bricks and stale…and the mushroom chowmein is not like it use to be…and the curry sauce is very poor😟

We arrived for a birthday celebration we was on 2 separate tables. Plenty of food but not fresh and no chow main out. Waited over 15 minutes for drinks then asked what did we order. The kids did enjoy the desert area.
