Great little find for a real coffee and well worth seeking out. I had an authentic Cortado and there are a number of roasts to choose from. They are dog friendly too which is a bonus.
Enjoyed a delicious home cooked Sunday roast with family. Quality of meat excellent. Choice of beef, pork which was plated with roast potatoes, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage & crackling if desired. Self service for peas, sprouts, carrots and gravy. Accompanied with condiments, sauces of your choice. £19.00 per head which included choice of dessert & half pint.

As soon as you walk into The Stables, it exudes quality immediately and the
cleanliness was very apparent. The welcome pack was a very thoughtful touch ,
everything has been done to a really superb standard but yet retains a charm and unique character all of its own . The lounge has magnificent views out over the valley, it was particularly lovely to sit out and relax in the well manicured garden. We loved the bathrooms which had the walk in shower areas combined with the unique feature of a roll top bath. The bedrooms were very tastefully decorated and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The Stables has an aura about it which makes you feel so at home and relaxed. Can't wait to return later this year if available fingers crossed.
Under new owner's October 2024...what a lovely atmosphere on a damp autumn evening, fire blazing,Rhys and Claire made it so welcoming... proper traditional pub, dart board, pool table and a chess board set up for customers to chill with a drink with and off road parking behind the pub.
Really cosy pub with a warm atmosphere....would recommend and will be returning 👏👏👏👏❤️
Having parked next to Christ College we walked over the bridge and up Ship Street to this restaurant for a light lunch.
The welcome was warm and friendly and we sat at Table 1 where our order was taken.
My (GF) wife had a lovely Waldorf Chicken Salad which she really enjoyed and I had the fish soup which was a Seafood Chowder and it was excellent and served as a large portion - I’d choose this again!!
All in all, a friendly venue which I can highly recommend.
Was welcomed here mid (freezing cold) bikepacking ride to a fantastic spread of cakes, drinks and delicious hot soup!
The ladies were very friendly and chatty and it wasn't long before we'd all warmed up nicely, ready to continue our trip.
Will definitely route this way in the future. :)
I went to LT dining hall today (for the first time) for the Sunday carvery and what a wonderful surprise. There were different roast meats to choose from as well as a vegetarian option. The meat was served by the staff at the counter, but from there on it was self service - roast potatoes, roast parsnips, boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, cabbage, carrots, garden peas, mushy peas, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding. Then over to the self service condiments section, mint sauce, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, horseradish sauce and gravy. For all of £7.95 - amazing. There were also dessert options, but I had no room left. My Mum however had the bread and butter pudding. She came back with something in a bowl the size of a small fridge, it was huge! The cream that went with it was self service too. I will definitely be back. I think next time I may get a dessert to take away, as 10 hours later I'm beginning to feel peckish.
Excellent coffee, even better cakes and pastries. Always a small queue as it’s right next to the coastal path and one of AberP’s small carparks. Well signposted. Recommended.

The host Eileen met us on our arrival and is very welcoming and friendly. The property is part of three properties formed from an old barn. It is superb condition and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It is up a short track, off the access road at the top of a hill with beautiful views all around especially over to the west. There is plenty of parking with garden seating areas at the front to watch the sun set, or BBQ at the rear. It is such a lovely peaceful place to stay. We stayed a week and enjoyed exploring the hills and mountains in the area. We would love to return some time in the not too distant future.
We went to Brecon Golf Club for Father’s Day and it was lovely. They had a dads eat free special. Our food came almost instantly and the Sunday dinner had all you expected. The desserts were large and tasted great. We could easily get our pushchair in and the chairs were very comfortable for a nursing mother. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
