The best restaurants in Central Scotland

Great stop. The food was great. The butter chicken and naan hit the right way after walking half the day.

Just a takeaway latte and a raspberry and white chocolate tray bake today. The young barissta was friendly, polite and looked happy to be there. Coffee was very good, as was the tray bake. Excellent service. Will be my coffee stop of choice for future visits to Dundee

Wow, cannot believe the positive reviews this place has. The server (owner?) had a bad attitude from the start which made us feel quite uncomfortable. Ordered a Corona from the menu only to be told they didn't have any. The fillet steak both had a huge lump of chewy, inedible fat in it and was cooked way rarer than the medium-rare ordered - this was grudgingly accepted back after the 'server' consulted with the 'chef' (her husband?) and a 'bad cut from the supplier' blamed - it's hard to accept the chef couldn't tell the cut was bad before cooking it, and we feel they tried to pass it off to us as tourists hoping we would just accept it and not complain. After a replacement alternate dish was provided (it was fine, if in no way outstanding, same with the pasta dish also ordered) and we had finished eating we asked for the bill and were instead handed packets of moist towelettes (?) and told to go to the bar when ready. Zero apology for the bad steak, no discount, not even our drinks comped, nothing. The whole experience was super uncomfortable. Neither the food nor the service nor the decor (laminated placemats, 'gift shop' art) nor the ambiance (loud generic music) justify the high prices charged here (£37 pounds for said fillet steak, £28 for a pasta). There's a reason the Tobermory Hotel down the road is packed every night (we ate there the night before and it was pumping) with both locals and tourists and the Galleon Bistro had only us and two other couples dining (neither of whom looked very happy either). Overall a super disappointing experience.

Lovely spot for a yummy beer and delicious pizza! Stumbled in on our travels from Canada and had a lovely evening and got to pet some adorable pups too!

I went to the Lalique to celebrate my engagement last week. Louise and Hannah in the reservations team were fantastic, really helpful organising a very special night including recommendations for a nearby hotel and taxis. On the night, the food was absolutely fantastic, all very interesting and delicious. The staff were so friendly and that really contributed to a great night. Highly recommended!

En famille nous avons testé ce restaurant ,très chouette expérience …cadre sympathique ,service agréable et rapide ,les moules étaient délicieuses ,et nos végétariens se sont délectés des burgers végétariens . Présentation soignée des assiettes . A ne pas louper !!!

Really lovely dinner here on Friday night. The pakora is light and tasty, perfect starter. Our main meals were equally delicious. Will definitely go back.

Had an amazing Christmas lunch with the workies - food was fab and service was great too. Would definitely recommend, defo worth the money

This is a new addition to the eating options in Tobermory - and will completely put it on the map as not only’ vaut le detour’, Michelin style, but as a destination in its own right . I had the tasting menu, my partner the a la carte ( so first, no nonsense about the whole table has to have the tasting menu)- the venue is bright, the welcome warm and informative, and the food - some of the best I’ve ever had. The langoustine and halibut courses were absolutely delicious whilst the scallops - with fennel oil and white chocolate sauce, amongst other flavours- the best I’ve ever had. Totally brilliant. Sauces for all the meat and fish , absolutely imaginative, some unusual, and worked! Wine choices delicious, atmosphere ‘ local’- tables talking to each other! ‘ and welcoming - ‘ walk ins’ were warmly greeted. All in all - an experience. And again - the food - superb. I didn’t take any photos but someone will….. we’ll done, and I wish you all the success you strongly deserve!

Me alegro mucho de habernos encontrado con este café, vine con mis tres hijos la semana pasada mientras que en un viaje a Stirling, la comida era absolutamente increíble! ¡Y también pueden hacer café! Ojalá viviera más cerca, porque definitivamente volvería. 2 de mis hijos tenían tortitas, uno con arándanos y otro con tocino y huevo revuelto, les encantaron. Mi hija y yo tuvimos BLTs, de nuevo el mejor BLT que he tenido, comida encantadora, gracias!
