The best restaurants in Scotland

Went into the Glenrothes shop and got a sandwich , had the check to make sure there was no tomatoes. As I have an allergy to tomatoes . The lady that served me double checked . BIG thank you to a great service

From the outside, the Old Toll Bar isn't much to look at. You could easily walk by, barely paying it any attention, just writing it off as another typical Glasgow southside pub. But go inside and you will be pleasantly surprised. The place isn't the biggest but turns out to be surprisingly spacious considering the actual size. The whole interior looks great, quite old fashioned but in a good way. The decoration gives the bar a nice charm to it. All of the staff that I've ever met in here have been very friendly and helpful. One in particular really went the extra mile for us. We wanted to order cocktails and rather than just leaving us to choose off the cocktail menu, this staff member came out from behind the bar when he didn't have to and wanted to make sure we got the right cocktails for us. He went as far as asking us questions about what we liked in a cocktail before offering to make us one that wasn't even on the menu. Customer service doesn't get much better than that! The cocktail itself was also very good. So, this probably isn't the sort of place that you would head for specifically as it is quite small and out of the way. But, if you're ever in the Kinning Park, Paisley Road West area, I would recommend stopping in as part of a day out or a bar crawl or something.

I've had the flu all week. And haven't been able to eat properly and I fancied some spicy chicken noodle soup and made me feel so much better and was fresh and extremely tasty 😋. Food was lovely and delivery driver was nice

Amazing, will definitely visit again. Lovely meat, lovely sauces and really helpful staff who helped us pich and helped us cook the food in the hotpot/on the grill.

Esta mañana tomé un descarado panecillo de desayuno para llevar y una taza de té. He estado aquí varias veces para desayunar y siempre es genial, el personal es amable y la comida siempre es buena. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente. . el mejor café frente al mar. !

Good Alternative to fast food restaurant. However, seems like every time I am in there what look like the two owners are always hovering over the staff. One always pinches chops and puts them into a drinks cup ... seems like a habit. However, the food is of course fast food but an alternative that is at least a current option to the normal range of fast foods available.

Pies rolls and cakes are very good indeed but the prices of the soft drinks are scandalous. Ladies in shop are very pleasant and friendly

Esta pequeña joya de café está escondida junto a las tiendas en Hazel Head. La comida es fresca, la sopa y las bandejas son para morirse y el servicio siempre es amable y rápido. Un pequeño espacio para sentarse o llevar y el precio es muy razonable. He estado muchas veces y volveré muchas más.

We dropped in for a Latte and a slice of scrumptious cherry cake . The place is clean and tidy and well lit with a nice window looking outside . Lots of meal deals on the bid boards on the walls .Ideal for a snack or a quick lunch .I see they also do deliveries . I notice that they do not take credit cards ,cash only.

good for something quick and food was hot while on the go cant complain when we was out enjoying the sun and the staff is mega friendly shame they had to close

Simple menu but really delicious soup and cake, v friendly though overworked staff member, nice airy venue for lunch. Might write a book about the exploits of the characters in the clientele……

great small tea room with good choice friendly. A Must try well situated in Kelty high standard of good quality food.

Nice warm and friendly welcome from staff. Lovely tasting food at reasonable prices. Very clean and tidy.

Lovely cafe at the rear of the gift shop. Super friendly staff and the best scones in East Lothian. The gift shop is also well worth a visit.
