Loved having coffee in this little cafe were we have just baked scones with jam and cream. Served by a very friendly helpful gentleman. A great find and we will be back again.
This spot is brilliant. Been here lots of times, became my usual spot. Fry’s are lovely. Brilliant. Only thing I will say is lack of chips. 9.5/10! Great service. Great place. Couldn’t recommend enough.
A perfect evening. Wonderful service and brilliant food. Three of us went for the set menu at £55, while one opted for the a la carte menu. We enjoyed the goats cheese, soup and black pudding for starters, fillet which was a £6 supplement and superb, the duck and the turkey and ham. For dessert we had the most amazing popcorn chocolate tart and the lemon dessert. We would absolutely return
Consistently great food, best steaks and curry I have had and delicious garlic potatoes! All food is always seasoned well, excellent service and friendliest staff, amazing value for money too! Beautiful , relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit ❤️
A lovely quaint cosy place to stop for a coffee or a quick snack. They usually do a selection of 3 soups with home made scones to go with them, and then there's a range of homemade buns and cookies. There's artisan felt and paintings both on display and for sale, and they have classes to show you how to do them and also how to make their menu items. Always a warm welcome and lovely views over the Mournes countryside. And don't forget about Freddie their big friendly dog getting everybody- and ever hopeful to scrounge a little treat!
Went with a group of 10 men, from our shed , and we were served right royally. Had a substantial tasty home made brunch. Made on the spot and served with a smile.
Can`t wait to go back,
Had a cuppa while I waited for my bike to get serviced. Great coffee, amazing fresh raspberry and white chocolate scone. Perfect. Friendly staff , and you get to check out the bikes while you're chilling!
Situated on Central Promenade, Newcastle, Co.Down the covered outdoor seating gives a truly Mediterrean atmosphere as you admire the views of the harbour and Slieve Donard, the highest peak in Northern Ireland, as it sweeps down to the sea. Choose one of the fabulous Base Coffee drinks or select from the range of herbal teas. For morning snacks try the sausage rolls, croisants or scone with fresh jam. Then later in the day you must try the home baked apple pie of one of the delicious (but huge) tray bakes. Base Coffee is not just a coffee shop, it's a hub for many regulars and undoubtedly you will very quickly feel welcome.
