Taste of Belgium in Newry and Mourne

Well worth a visit for a pistachio hot chocolate but pretty expensive over all and could do with more staff only one work on when we called and lengthy queue.

When I say this is the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had I’m not joking! I got the pistachio hot chocolate and it was delicious, if you’re local or just visiting you MUST try!

Visited for the first time expecting a basic hot chocolate, but recieved the best drink I've ever had. So sad there isn't one where I'm from. Staff were so nice and helpful too.

Called to Castle Court last week specifically to try this place. First impression was extremely poor, shop was completely empty and by that I mean it was also empty of any staff member who presumably was out the back which doesn't exactly create a good first impression. Secondly I was very underwhelmed by the selection and variety of chocolates available which all seemed a bit basic and as prices as well as staff where unavailable to ask, I left. Can't say I'll be in a hurry to rush back. The previous Thorthans was so much nicer.

I had two of the best hot chocolates I have had in a long time in the Taste of Belgium Castle Court store. First I had milk and then came back for a banana one. There is a great selection of flavours to choose from and I highly recommend the banana flavour. The staff are so friendly and professional and the chocolates taste great too.

Really nice place for something different in the area. Actually good tea which is hard to get in the area. The chocolate is of course great. Had a waffle with ice cream. The girl managing the place is very welcoming and gives great service Cafe is small and relaxed. Go give this place a try much better than big chain coffee places. Cheaper and better quality.

Was quite expensive for what we got, £28 for a tea, latte, hot chocolate and 2 little half cups of melted chocolate with a small handful of banana pieces each. The chocolate tasted amazing but it’s just very expensive for what it was. The atmosphere was lacking, we were the only people in there and the one staff member kept disappearing so we were literally in the place alone, quite strange. I probably wouldn’t go in again because of the price and lack of atmosphere even though the chocolate was amazing everything else was bog standard, not worth it tbh.

Not only was the chocolate absolutely amazing in every form we tried, the atmosphere here was so peaceful. Only real way to describe it is perfect.

Just Devine! My daughter had hot chocolate (made with their own melted milk chocolate) and hazelnut cream waffles with melted chocolate…WOW! I had a flat white which had the option to have melted chocolate in it, of course I said yes to that…it was delicious and the chocolate didn’t overpower the lovely toasty/nutty coffee beans. They make their own truffles which are also delicious. Highly recommend this cosy little place.

OH MY GOD!!!! Just saw this place on TikTok and ran straight here! MY NEW SPOT. Never had anything like it in my life!!!! The hot chocolate with the melted white chocolate served in the green cup is A MUST!!!!!!!!!!

Only discovered this place recently. Staff are excellent always served with a smile. And the desserts are beautiful. Unbelievably good Chocolate and the waffles are fresh and crispy just the way I like them. Nothing else like it in Newry.

To die for if you're a chocoholic. Quiet , peaceful atmosphere with lovely, attentive staff. Walked in, browsed the menu and they were with us straight away. Everything was perfect. Waffles are so light and delicious and perfectly balanced the heaviness of the chocolate and ice cream. Would happily make the 1hr drive back again soon!

This place has a small child's corner for the kids for the parents to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The place has a comforting and warm feel, just like it chocolate. Lovely friendly cafe doing yummy hot chocolates and delicious chocolates which are sold individually and are gluten free. Place was calm, great venue to chat and relax. Definitely will be back to this wee gem.

This place is the real deal. Unbelievable quality. We couldn’t believe when we heard they were open late during week! Mocha and cappuccino were a 10 out of 10! We’re not in Newry often, but we’ll be back every time we are!

Lovely ambience and cant fault the coffee or hot chocolate. Waffles are yum and filling. One portion fed 2 kids with 2 scoops of ice cream and 2 scoops of whipped cream. Tummys are full and happy ❤️

Best kept secret in Newry, hot chocolate by far best in town, same quality as high end Paris KB. Cafe which is best in Paris. Cappichino similarly excellent. All this before considering the chocolate which they stock, beautiful designs, bunny's, puppy's etc, look to good to eat. But we ate them anyway, tasty with capital T. Service and ambience excellent, very restful, child friendly. Two minute walk from buttercrane. Well worth this short dander

A Cafe that transports you to the streets of Europe on a sunny morning sipping over a brew. If you prefer quality over quantity, this is the place to go. Beautiful decor and relaxing music. Suitable for that solo coffee or with friends. A locality stamp scheme would be a good incentive to return.

We popped in spontaneously after shopping at the Buttercrane. Delicious cappuccinos and generous portions of the homemade hazelnut cream waffles with ice cream. They also do a wide range of milkshakes, chocolates, truffles, drinks & gifts. The atmosphere is chic and cozy with plenty of comfortable couches, chairs and quiet nooks to catch up with friends or study alone. The service is friendly and attentive too. A must stop when in Newry!

I love this! Little hidden gem, definitely a spot for locals to relax and a perfect one for tourists who are looking for something a little different. Went here with my boyfriend and we got the Chocolate Fondue, it was amazing and within a few bites we said we would be back! Dropped in here after dining out in Newry. They have a beautiful range of in-house made desserts. My misses and I shared the strawberry waffle with ice cream, fresh cream and milk chocolate drizzle - never tasted anything as good.
