The Bay Horse is a truly outstanding place for a meal. Although a little out of the way, it's well worth a visit. Not only is the food thoroughly delicious but the service was exemplary. Altogether an outstanding pub/restaurant and I highly recommend it!

Be aware there is no mobile phone signal. The Cross Keys is a small village pub which provides accommodation, with the pleasantly decorated rooms in a separate building. Fresh milk was provided on arrival for a much needed cup of tea. Food is served in the pub every night which is good news for those walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way.After a good night’s sleep and breakfast, I collected my pack-up lunch and left Thixendale having been made welcome by Steve and Mary throughout my stay. It was great value too.

Fantastic modern suites. Extremely comfortable. The continental breakfast was superb, probably the best I've ever had. The location is a little out of the way from anything but if a quiet retreat from civilization is what you're looking for.. look no further. Exceptional value.

Disappointed with half a cup full of coffee, that was pretty much milk . I love this place , it's such a treat when we go to whitby but the staff seem a little too young to be working there maybe. Coffees are so expensive these days it's nice to enjoy a treat without leaving it
