Great place for a pint and food very friendly staff always a warm welcome

We are regular visitors to the cafe and have often recommended it to family friends. So extremely disappointed in our experience today mainly due to poor service and bad attitude of staff which has never happened in our numerous previous visits.

I thoroughly enjoy the bangers and mash the sausages are so juicy and big the onion gravy is amazing I've had many other meals and all have been very good and good value for money. I just wish they had an easy to find book a table as I can't find it and do prefer to book online without having to phone. Wonderful pub 👌

I first visited this restaurant in September and had a lovely meal no complaints, I’ve since visited twice more, in early October, I visited again., I ordered a meal again and asked for a rump steak medium, when it arrived, it was rare, I left the table and quietly went up to tell the waitress that it wasn’t as I had ordered, she apologised and 10 minutes later my steak arrived back, it was inedible !! I called in tonight for a drink, & the chef’s wife asked if she could have a quiet word with me round the corner, - She told me in no uncertain terms that I was not welcome, & I would never be served again. I asked why, she told me that I’d complained before about the meal, and that I had gone into the bar afterwards and told everyone about the awful meal I had had. This was a downright lie as I am not that kind of person. It’s a sad time if a restaurant cannot take any criticism without banning someone for complaining.
