Bowring Park Cafe in Telford and Wrekin

As usual good food, home made mushroom soup and a well filled tuna sandwich for £6 and husband had bacon, sausage and mushroom sandwich which was very filling. Service good and great selection of cakes to take home. Dog friendly which suits us.

We are regular visitors to the cafe and have often recommended it to family friends. So extremely disappointed in our experience today mainly due to poor service and bad attitude of staff which has never happened in our numerous previous visits.

Went for ice cream & milkshakes, unfortunately as was extremely most things were sold out so just got ice lollies, but prices were cheaper than most so was really good. Such a beautiful park to have a picnic!

Very busy so limited seating, sat at a picnic table opposite with toddler in a high chair. Ordered 2 adult and 1 child breakfasts with 2 teas. Explained where we were sitting but wasn't made aware that food would be served in a bag for takeaway. We managed with the cardboard boxes, wooden cutlery and paper cups so not the best but not the end of the world. Food however wasn't very nice sausages were very burnt on all sides, bacon very salty ( and I am a big salt fan ) and everything served on top of each other. Cup of tea was good.

Wonderful breakfast, cooked just the way I like it. Lots of options especially for Dog Walkers and in a wonderful chilled location.

We love this little cafe in the park..I honestly don't know what some people expect..it's a quirky little gem of a place and if there's a bit of a wait when they're busy, so what? And people who object to dogs..well, maybe stay away then..try to consider that in the colder months of the year we dog walkers are the mainstay of this place and truly appreciate having somewhere where the coffee is gorgeous and the food is good wholesome fare served hot and with a smile!

We decided to try somewhere new for a Sunday breakfast. Everything seemed positive about this place so fine, we jumped in the car. We found our seats in the dining area & were greeted by pleasant waiting staff. We were happy with what was on offer & the prices were very reasonable. Our order was taken then..it all changed. Now I'm all for this "dog friendly" phase that has started but, when the eating area only has around 8 tables in maximum 30 x 20 feet room, I don't agree with it being open to canines. In walked a couple with 2 little, yappy dogs that never shut up. They were unruly & left mud all over the floor..oh & they were both wet & stunk..By this point, I had already had enough? I had not received my breakfast at this point.. I have no complaints about our food or drinks but, I rushed my food to get away from the yapping & the smell. At the time of leaving, there were 6 dogs in there barking, yapping shaking their hair all round people trying to eat. I was glad to get out...Sorry but, we will not be returning.. shame really.

This was our first visit to this cafe. Coffee is excellent. Breakfast pre cooked and warmed up, average sausage under cooked, bacon over cooked I stand by these comments, if it was not warmed up then it was left to long before being served. Being our first visit we had no idea the toast would come pre buttered not a good idea to butter toast for customers the server could have easily asked if we wanted our toast buttering or not. We did not wish to raise it at the time due to it being a small cafe and could have been an embarrassment for you and other customers. Staff excellent

What an awful visit staff not friendly and coffees took 29 minutes to arrive. Will not visit again as the wait and lack of apology you get better service elsewhere

Family of 5 adults, a 2 year old and a 6 month old baby visited for sunday Breakfast . Ordered a variety of food= English breakfast, vegan breakfast, teacakes,and bacon sandwiches. Everything was absolutely excellent and very good Coffee too. Cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, indoor has table service. Prices are exceptionally good value and staff friendly and professional. Gets very very busy. This was our 1st visit and we will most certainly be visiting again on a very regular basis

I've never been able to find this little gem as the entrance to the park is narrow. The car park is small, but there is overflow parking just past the cafe (needs resurfacing). Lovely quiet park with playground and tennis courts. Cafe was open on a blustery Easter day. We sat outside with our dog, but there is inside seating. Good choices on the menu. We had the BLT sandwich.

Delightful cafe with indoor and outdoor seating as well as take away. Pleasant, polite and friendly staff. Food was freshly cooked, tasted delicious and very reasonable in respect to price.

Whether going for a drink and cake, or a meal, you will love this cafe. The staff work extremely hard, are always friendly and very efficient. They are all a credit to Donna and David. The food is cooked fresh, so sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, but you are always told an approximate time. The cakes are amazing. I noticed today that they do various salads. I chose the ham one, with honey mustard dressing. It came in a box (for taking home) . It was lovely. They do a couple of other salads too, i will try a different one next time. My husband had a sausage sandwich. Everything is good value for money.

Visited this morning for latte and cake with my friend. Sat outside and ordered at the counter. Lovely young lady smiled & took my table no. and order. I had the delicious Victoria sponge & my friend had biscoffe cake. The young man, named Matt brought out our order, also very friendly with a smile. Lovely food & service. Will visit again soon!

Went for lunch. Waited 10 minutes in the new indoor seating area for someone to come and take my order (as it states on the board outside). Went to the counter to find out what was happening and several staff were chatting and laughing. Asked a lady if anyone was serving in the indoor part. Answer was,”Oh, has no-one been to you?”. Well, I think that was quite obvious! No apology. Just said “ someone will be over in a minute”. Decided to go elsewhere. Maybe they should put a camera in there so they can see when someone goes in.

Just arrived home from having the most wonderful Curry Night meal out at the Bowring with the family. Popodoms with a chutney tray with four choices of dip (2 home made!). The raita is gorgeous (one of the home made options!) Lamb kofta to start which was finished on the BBQ was melt in the mouth deliciousness. Chicken Ceylon X 1 and the veggie option of Chickpea & Cashew Nut curry X 2 with a coconut and cream sauce which was absolutely lovely. Both came with rice and garlic bread. Couldn't fault a single thing and we left with very empty plates. On top of all this the staff are lovely. What more could you want? Now looking forward to the next night out at the Bowring. Please support this local business. You won't be disappointed. Sorry but I forgot to take pictures...too busy eating!

A great cafe in the Bowring Park serving early morning till late afternoon, sandwiches, breakfasts, lunches and homemade cakes. Great staff all trained by Donna and David, polite and efficient, nothing us too much trouble for the staff. A great assett to Wellington and so popular with visitors to the Park and dog walkers. Food is of the highest quality.

Visited here 3/4 times now since the 2021 summer and its brilliant. Great (and proper) food. Not over expensive and generous portions. I like the fact that they have open air seating so can take the dog with us. There is now an indoor seating area BUT not yet been since this has opened, due to covid restrictions

Poor quality breakfast really disappointed in the food here the sausage was terrible tasted like was was boiled and under cooked bacon undercooked toast under cooked nothing tasted nice thrown in the bin as I wouldn’t even feed this my dog terrible won’t be coming back

Stopped for coffee and breakfast when out for a lockdown walk. The breakfast was delicious and we couldn't believe the quality of the ingredients for the price. Could not fault it at all. The coffee was lovely too. Very friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting...

Stopped off for a snack and a drink. The staff are very helpful and the food is delicious. Plenty of parking and plenty of benches next to the bowling green. Highly recommended.

We have a sandwich from here every Friday from work and its always so enjoyable. We just call up and order and its usually ready within ten minuets. Vegan sausage and the bread is really good, have only ever heard good things about this café.

3 new staff who only started this week all very polite and friendly. Sandwiches and coffees excellent and very reasonably priced and served very quickly. An excellent place to meet family ir friends

Lovely food,amazing coffee, very friendly staff 5*. Reasonable price and made tables up so are party could all sit together. Would recommend this cafe to anyone who wanted a breakfast or a light lunch. Not on to miss.

We took my parents and brother for lunch here and it didn't disappoint. The club sandwich was amazing, the gourmet burger was just that and the breakfasts were spot on!

What a great addition to Wellington (Telford and Wrekin) great cafe, service with a smile, super well organised and fantastic value for money too. BBQ on Friday evenings too, weather permitting - highly recommend!
