Searching for nice pub in the area and wow did we find it. Very busy on a Saturday night which was a good sign. All the staff were extremely attentive and what seemed like a family run business made for a lovely evening. Food was well priced and plentiful all served with a smile. Menu was obviously thought through and catered for all pallets. Well done, we will definitely be back.

Four of us had a light lunch here yesterday. We had hoped to sit outside by the lake but it was cold so we were in the bistro which is lovely. We all ordered sandwiches which were delicious and presented beautifully with a small selection of dressed salad leaves . We all had banana sponge pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream - a bit like sticky toffee pudding but even better. The staff were immaculately turned out, and genuinely welcoming and helpful. This is such a lovely place and we will definitely be back before long.

Another Sunday lunch visit to the Butchers and this time solo but no worry. Warm and friendly welcome as ever, great lunchtime atmosphere. Delicious pigeon breast salad with pancetta, chicory and elderflower. Following the game theme with roast duck, Anna potatoes, morello cherry and blackberry. All going swimmingly with a fine bottle of Chateauneuf Domaine de la Solitude (appropriate!). Rounded off with chocolate cremeux, Griottine cherries and cocoa tuile. Always love a bit if chocolate soil. Great way to welcome autumn.
