Myself and 3 friends had an exceptional dinner at 33 The Homend, the menu was perfect and with some interesting combinations that worked magnificently. All dishes were seasonal, beautifully prepared and presented, mouth wateringly delicious! The wine list was brief but chosen to superbly compliment the dishes. Service throughout was relaxed, friendly and efficient. The overall cost of our wonderful meal was more than reasonable considering the quality of the food and wine we had enjoyed. I have eaten at 3* Michelin restaurants and this experience definitely equals them and is one of the best meals I have enjoyed......a planned return is in progress regardless of the fact we live over 2 hours away, 33 The Homend is definitely worth it!
I'm sorry, I can't agree with the other reviews. Surroundings were in a bad state of repair and grubby. A lick of paint and repairs above the entrance wouldn't go amiss. The ordering point was badly marketed and cluttered. It took ages to get our drinks and there was absolutely no conversation with the dark haired young lady that served us, no warmth, no conversation, no nothing - really poor. Drinks were fine, nothing special, reasonably priced. Menu on the table was badly presented, covered in stains and ripped. Not a great impression, at the very least, they should be laminated so that you can wipe them.
One of our favourite 'go to' spots for afternoon refreshments on a weekend. The staff are very friendly and can highly recommend their smoothies and/or cream teas! The animals outside are a great added bonus too, especially if you have kids... Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Spotlessly clean cafe, plenty of seating. Wide choice of light bites including panini and toasted sandwiches. Plus excellent choice of ice cream, sorbets and frozen yogurt. Great place to walk, dog friendly if kept on a lead. Only slight criticism is the 600m sign to the lime kilns. Definitely further than that. Great afternoon out, however, and would return.
Hi the swan Inn we stopped in your campsite Friday and Saturday Night, the site and amenities were spot less very well set out , we had food on Friday night very nice, our hosts were pleasant and welcoming so were the clientele .
Thanks for a nice Stay Peter and Deborah.
Called in to purchase some products and decided to have some lunch.
We decided on the soup and a roll which was so delicious.
Dominic made us feel very welcome and we shall definitely be going back again
We come down to this area to fish. We spend 3 or 4 nights in this area .so our destination is Coco's first .
Great food equally great people.
The breakfast sets us up for the day
Driven past a couple of times and decided to try one evening and it did not disappoint. Service was incredibly friendly and could not be faulted and the food options we had were excellent and great value. My only suggestion is I believe they should concentrate on a theme / style of food as they try to cater a bit of everything. I only say this as I am unsure how to recommend to friends what food to expect. I really do wish the venture well and look forward to returning!
For the most perfect tea and cake, EVERYONE should visit Toni at Ruffz.
Toni's homemade cakes are delicious; we had apple cake (made from apples grown in the garden) and chocolate tiffin!
Thirteen (adults) of us were staying near Kington and we wanted to book an evening meal together for a birthday. None of the places we rang could help so a breakfast was suggested.
We travelled to Kington 'on spec' and found the Regency.
It's a small place and a few locals were already sat inside. We asked if there would be a chance later in the morning and a lady came outside to find what we were after. She said she would fit us in and when we mentioned the locals her reply was "We'll manage". Fortunately, the locals were great and agreed to sit together. Two gentlemen even sat outside to allow us in. We couldn't have been made more welcome.
We each had a terrific breakfast for a very reasonable price.
Would I recommend The Regency? You bet.
Delicious food, stunning setting, perfect service.
Our group of 30 old car enthusiasts traveled from Bristol over hill and dale to this idyllic spot. The prior organisation and the management by Emily and her team on the day were highly impressive. The food was perfect, porchetta, salmon or aubergine all delicately done, tasty and plenty of it. Everyone went back home very satisfied. Thank you
