Called in for a nice evening playing cards, whilst the local pool team was practising. Fantastic range of local beers and the usual international ones to boot.

Fantastic food, lovely fresh produce from Gold Hill organic farm and such a varied menu. Excellent tasty varied menu- changes regularly. All homemade - delicious sweet and savoury main dishes, whether for a meal out or a snack. Very good friendly service and even crochet items for sale and cards. Next door to farm shop.

We had my Brother's birthday party there today and had a sumptuous afternoon tea for 36 people. Everything was delicious but a lot of cake to get through!! Staff were quietly efficient and pleasant. My only negative was the toilet and the track up to the venue could do with the potholes filling with a bit of gravel! . As an arachnophobic the cobwebs in the toilet freaked me out a bit!. Great food though and made a birthday get together very special.

Absolutely horrendous stay. The landlords had the heating on a time in sub zero temperatures. The 'apartment' we had booked was absolutely freezing. I had to put my children to bed fully clothed. The drains in the room smelt putrid like raw sewage. We made a booking for 4. Only 3 beds made up and towels only provided for 2. We made the sofa bed up at 8pm for my daughter and were missing half of the bedding. Went down to the pub at 8:20pm to request some bedding and pillows to find it all locked up for the night. The food. Diabolical. Black chips, a bit of Asda value frozen fish and peas drier than anything. The landlady was miserable and needs to find a new profession. Would not recommend this dump to my worst enemy. We checked out after 1 night and returned home. Absolute dive.

Really tasty and well presented dishes. Welcoming and very friendly - even the dog is friendly and welcoming! Overall, a great experience on a damp day.

Nice typical English pub, We enjoyed dinner and a beer and were served by an very kind waitress. The fiid was very English and good. it was not an authentic cozy old atmospheric pub, but well for just tonight.

Fabulous pub. Friendly staff great service and food. Would highly recommend. Husband enjoyed steak and mushroom pie and I loved the scampi. Lovely log burner
