The best restaurants in Ilfracombe East North Devon South West

What a beautiful tea room set in a covered little courtyard. We discovered this place after reading amazing reviews. The scones are home made and absolutely delicious with a fresh filtered coffee. Although slightly hidden away, it is well worth a drive for afternoon tea

This was our sixth visit and the food and service were spot on as they always are. We had beef and pork which were lovely, with the best roasties and veg around, followed by Martin's delicious pavlova. We don't get here often but last year we had our wedding reception here, we came back two days later to eat and then again on our first anniversary. I think that says it all.

This business did not re-open in 2024. Whilst the staff and food were clearly excellent the least they could have done was close the web presence. Our stay at Beach Cove was partly based on the 100 % 5 star ratings on Hele’s Kitchen, gutted when we got here to find it shut down.

Visiting Ilfracombe in June and wanted a light lunch. Thought it would be easier than parking in town as there's free carparking. What a find... The menu was refreshing.. Lovely choices and reasonably priced also the views and outside area so beautiful was a good choice. While there we checked out the evening menu and decided to call back later in the holiday. Would highly recommend a visit here day or evening. Friendly staff make you very welcome. Loved the look of the pimms cream tea. The food is really good and wonderfully presented will be definately coming back.

We had an outstanding meal from Ryan while on holiday with our 11 month old. Delicious restaurant quality food with none of the stress of chasing our toddler around a busy dining room full of other patrons! The food was excellent as was the service and he left the kitchen spotless. We would highly recommend for a luxurious but relaxed experience.

Ice creams expensive for what they are. Small, slightly stale cone. Not very cold ice cream. Disappointing. Chips looked OK, if slightly underdine.

The staff at the lime kiln are very friendly and attentive. They do the best coffee and food in town. Me and my friends were very pleased with our visit and will definitely be back!

Visited while staying in the holiday park opposite, really nice food and good value on banquet night. Service wasn’t great there only appeared to be 2 people working but it wasn’t too busy so not really a problem.

We just had a lovely impromptu dinner at Hele Bay pub. We've been here a few times over the last ten years or so that we've been to Hele and have sadly found the pub lacking, BUT this time it was really great! Really splendidly cooked food with great attention to detail. We had 4 lighter bite meals between the two of us which were all lovely but the standout by some distance was the Messy Fries 🍟. Just really great, good value pub food with a very welcoming landlord and lady. Smashing beer too! 🍺 We'll be back next year! 🙂

Ladies who lunch get together good service,helpful,food lovely,large servings,nothing too much trouble, wheelchair friendly,could bring my disabled husband,good bus route stops outside

Went in for a few drinks on way back too are camper spent over an hour sat peacefully drinking chatting. All of a sudden bar person tells us table booked in ten minutes and might have to move, puts a reserve label on table we were there over an hour then they decide to tell us not good service especially as we were thinking of staying for food!! Been treated better at far worst places in the better Reserved should have been there far earlier like table opposite had one from ehen we walked in.
