We had a great lunch on Saturday with family, including our 4 year old daughter. The staff were so friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! They’d only just recovered from a power cut and still had no signal but handled it calmly & professionally. The decor is really pretty and cosy too. We would absolutely recommend and will be back next time we visit :-)

Visited on Saturday 26th October 2024 for lunch. Entered the bar area which was empty of drinkers. There were a couple of occupied tables in the main dining area and a table of 4-6 in the bar area. My husband asked if we could have a table for 2 for lunch. The singularly sullen lady behind the bar asked if we'd booked. He said no. Was greeted with an off-hand response. Assuming we were allowed to stay for lunch we noticed that she seemed to be handling everything on her own. After waiting a bit while she attended to the other two dinning tables, taking orders (no problem), my husband attempted a gentle ..."have you been left on your own?"... This was greeted with a grunted 'Yes - so you can either be patient or... not'. Quite taken aback at the very 'whatever' attitude we left and had a lovely lunch at the Mill in Rode instead. Possibly a bad day for her, but really not a good customer experience for us. We have eaten here previously and really enjoyed both the hospitality and the food so really wouldn't put people off giving it a try. Just not a good moment for us this time. Making people feel welcomed and valued as a customer goes such a long way. We were quite happy to wait for service as we could see she was on her own but the attitude meant we left instead.

After months of closure, the Red Lion at Woolverton has reopened under new management. Dan the manager gave us a warm welcome and told us of his plans, as we were chatting the pub started to fill up, obviously word has started to spread of the wonderful welcome, excellent food and drinks, it’s well worth a visit

Stayed for my Dad's 80th birthday. The B&B is lovely - very special rooms, unique building, friendly staff and the breakfast was fine. It would have scored a 5/5. The celebratory dinner we had though was disappointing - we were stuck in a corner in the bar rather than one of the nice dining rooms, despite booking months in advance and being clear this was a special occasion. The service was not great - a young lad with little experience - and the food was average. 3/5 for a disappointing dining experience. I'd recommend the B&B but don't go here for a special evening.

Tuesday 17 September 2024, after visiting Westwood Manor, which has no tea room we decided to drive the ten minutes it took to get to Farleigh Road Farm Shop & Cafe. ‘Farleigh Hungerford Farm Shop & Cafe’ is a really nice place to go for a lunch or snacks. As it was quite warm and humid, my husband and I sat inside at a nice table in there lovely air conditioned restaurant. My husband had a nice pot of tea and a large slice of lemon curd cake. I had a lovely thick and very cold strawberry milkshake, which was really refreshing and a large slice of lemon, almond and blueberry cake, which was delicious. We then went into the farm shop where I purchased some biscuits for my mom as a gift.
