Popped in for first pint last Friday for a friends surprise birthday bash having driven up from Chichester, really great atmosphere and lovely locals with a good bit of banter thrown in .Returned twice more over the weekend with the happy vibe still the same and finally a big shout out to Carrie behind the bar for making us all feel so welcome it was much appreciated.Cheeky one liner in summary of our experience at this little Gem of a boozer would be Orgasmic !!

Lovely pub, hidden away up a lane, with welcoming staff, cosy interior and pretty hanging baskets. Beer garden was a bit run down - bits of crisp packets and dog crap - but looked like pub exterior was being done up, so maybe garden is next project, shame noone had been out to check and clear it up though. Would definitely go again, as such a gem of a country pub that hasn't been turned into a trendy eatery. Have heard they do great food and decent price too. Great location.

Bonza beef burgers , Banging bean burgers, crispy and delicious halloumi fries, and service with a smile. Little gem of a place, with something for everyone.

My husband and I tried to get tea and cake yesterday afternoon. I am disabled and struggled into the garden to be met by a very unhelpful man who simply said 'its lunch' in response to my husband's polite query! When he enquired further, the response was: 'I'll get you a menu but if you just want tea, there's a tea bar over the road!' Needless to say we didn't bother or wait for the menu! Proprietor should remember it's the customers that keep businesses like this going and respond appropriately! Like another reviewer comments: Bring a packed lunch and enjoy the riverside beauty!!! The person we encountered was really rude and unhelpful!

Never again and probably the worst fish n chips I have ever had. The batter was greasy and dark brown and fish was dry like it a had been refried and the chips were the same. I didn't take a photo before I threw most in the bin, but the pic Camper52568780966 has posted in their review is spot on. Shame really, I had high hopes as its award winning.
