Bonza beef burgers , Banging bean burgers, crispy and delicious halloumi fries, and service with a smile. Little gem of a place, with something for everyone.

Delicious home made food served with a smile. Handy for the river, but also well worth a special trip.

We stop here when canoeing down the Wye. Nice food and a place to eat alfresco on the benches and tables with umbrellas .

Take the prettiest river in the world (it's where the word 'picturesque' was coined), add a pub that brews on the premises (fine, hoppy craft beer), visit on the sunniest Easter weekend in living memory (just luck, I guess), and you'd probably think you'd hit the jackpot. However, if crisps & pickled eggs are not enough to sustain a lazy afternoon on the ale or cider, you can dive elbow-deep into a fine burger with all the trimmings (hand-made veggie- or beef-), hog out on halloumi or potato fries, combine your choice of all-day-breakfast in a bun, or slurp through a cheese-steak or veggie tagine. The staff know their stuff; the vegetarian creates the veggie dishes, the omnivore wrangles the meaty ones, and both have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and a good word for every customer. The passing trade of cyclists, walkers and canoeists (the latter in varying states of sogginess) all seemed to appreciate their good luck. A fair few locals/regulars welcomed the return of the food-wagon as well. I always think that a seasonal food outlet that attracts locals must be worth attention and this one certainly is.As all the food is cooked to order, I understand that there would be a bit of a wait at busy times, although I personally didn't hear any complaints. The eponymous burger is worth the name; lightly toasted bun, crisp salad, well-seasoned home-made burger and choice of cheese and dressings. The seating area is also the pub car-park and can get over-crowded, although there is a garden around the back of the pub.All in all, a good place for the outdoor types to re-fuel and couch potatoes like me to laze on a sunny afternoon :-)

This is one terrible place. Waited about an hour and 10 minutes for the food. It seemed that they were only able to prepare one order at a time and it was really busy. They messed up part of our order so obtained a refund for that, as I did not want to wait any longer. They ran out of food for another one of our orders. The part they did not mess up I wished I have obtained a refund for it, it was so rancid. It was supposed to be steak in a roll, but it was like a fried a tin of dog food had been hoofed it into a burger bun. To make matters worse, it just kept on giving by way of repeating on me as I kayaked down the Wye. It was really busy, but what do expect on a bank holiday weekend, they just could not cope.Rubbish, rotten, foul, putrid and should be shut down, blown up or wheeled off into the Wye left to float off into ocean and into the Bermuda Triangle.

Did trip with Canoe the Wye - Lydbrook is the first stop off after Kerne bridge. Walk up to Forge Hammer pub and the snack wagon is parked in the car park. Great quality Sloppy Joe burger and spiced potato wedges. Pleasant surroundings with trestle tables with parasols where you can sit and eat.

Me encanta.

we used to always order from.akash, but the last couple of visits something has changed...and not forgetting.the better. the food used to be full.of flavour and enjoyable. the last few times the food has tasted bland...not much flavour or richness to it like I experience with other Indian restaurants. yes I had korma, but it was watery and no flavour. we had garlic keema nan which lacked meat or garlic and tasted bland, no spice or flavour to the keema/minced lamb or colour. all.the restaurants i have used in the past the minced lamb has a lovely flavour and a rich red colour to it, their time it was a light brown colour and no flavour, the peshawar nan also had no sweetness or flavour to it again not a nice nan bread. furthermore the keema rice again, bland... im not sure what has happened as over the years this was our goto curry house but wow have they gone down hill, a total waste of £37. I will not return and will.go back to rossas there is an amazin Indian takeaway over there where the food tastes quality or even one the one further up the road from akash.. what a shame. it maybe new chefs or owners but something has definitely changed sort it out guys..
