Disappointed. My partner and I ordered a meal for 2 of us. Gave us the wrong meal, wrong order. Added extras and we don’t know what they were?? I found HAIRS in my satay chicken and it was salty. No happy.

Website says ‘considered one of the best Chinese takeaways in the Forest of Dean’, food was dreadful sadly - given the cost £27 per person for what would be £15-£20 elsewhere. Chow mein had an odd taste, noodles were dry, spring rolls are bit like Icelands party pack (they’d taste better in fairness) & the crispy duck was crispy skin with very little meat. Most of it was wasted (something I hate doing) - very disappointed & would avoid if you want a decent meal

Had a takeaway for four people which came to £60 and it was pretty average to be honest. Some of the food was ok but other bits like the sweet and sour chicken were way too sweet and rice not great either so we ended up wasting alot of food. Wouldn’t go back again but not alot of choice in lydney 🤷‍♀️

Service was very quick. But when we got the food home was very disappointed very bland in flavour, also egg fried rice not fried only boiled rice eith chopped egg in it. Will not be going again

Tried this after a long break and the food was very nice. Staff were super helpful and d supportive as I am gluten intolerant. They spoke with the kitchen and they gave me great advice and the food was delicious. Good tip is to order without msg which helps if you have intolerances.

We recently stayed in Lydney for a few days and didn’t want to cook so tried this out. It was delicious! Extremely fresh and a good variety on the menu. Crispy beef was the crispiest I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend - make sure you take money as it’s cash only

Vegetarians so can't comment on the meat - Definitely will be going back - everything was well cooked and had good flavour - obviously it's a Chinese so wasn't expecting anything incredible - I'm pretty sure it's the best thing you'll get in lydney and it was very cheap

Food is great. Only take cash which didn’t help the customer in front of me as the cash machines were empty. He didn’t get his food. I have one gripe, I don’t like places that leave you standing there whilst they answer the phone which rang after you walked in. Bloody rude in my book.

It's an easy choice, Jimmy's Kitchen is the place to get your Chinese. I haven't had a bad dish from here yet!

Jimmy's is a takeaway. You call them , place your order and at the arranged time you collect. Simple. That part was easy. The food though. The food is bloody delicious! That's the best part! Don't speed or take risks but get home quick. You won't be sorry. Lovely. Will definitely order again.👍

Top quality meal - Chicken Satay, Special Chow Mein & King Prawn with seasonal vegetables. all the ingredients were tasty, we were surprised at the variety of vegetables in each dish cooked to perfection and retaining the right amount of crunch. Great value. Great friendly service. Thank you so much!

Got a take away the other night, starters were plentiful but not the best tasting. I had chilli beef as a main and to be honest it was pretty awful. It looked and tasted like something from Iceland, the budget supermarket, not the country. The only thing you could taste in the lemon chicken was vinegar. It filled a hole, but ended up tossing most of it away.

We can’t fault this takeaway . We had a Chinese meal - it was truly lovely. Plenty - fresh- non greasy and superb taste. Very polite and couldn’t be more helpful. Thank you.

Stopped at this busy and clearly popular Chinese restaurant to order a Saturday night takeaway during our holiday. Clean and socially distanced restaurant. Good menu. Lots of choice and very reasonably priced. Hot food, large portions and sensible packaging that travelled well for 6 miles.

A few wrong items from an order of about 6 dishes. And way too far to go back. What we did get tasted ok though.

Fresh and tasty. A good range of dishes for the set menus. Good social distancing measures for pick up.

We had a takeaway from here last night, and mine was excellent. However my husband cannot eat meat or dairy. He ordered vegetable fried rice. When we came to eat this, it was very spicy and had meat and prawns in it. I do not know what they gave him but it wasn't what was ordered and ended up in the bin !!

I used to like this very much but they have got expensive and now tow have to pay for the rice to go with your curry. I won't be going back

Stopped off here on our way back from work, food is so fresh and doesn't taste watered down or too salty. Its cash only but there's a cash machine down the road from them. By far the best Chinese meal we've had in a while 😁 Keep up the great work! We will be back 👍

We ordered a take out while on holiday in Lydney. It was ready at the time advised when we went to collect it. The food was good quality and still hot, we all ate as much as we could so no complaints.

I have been a long time customer of jimmys kitchen, the staff are great, the food is outstanding and I’ve never had a problem

We take phones orders. Great selection of well cooked dishes great value for money.

Total chaos !! Initially rang to make an order, asked to hold and 20 minutes later still on hold. Drove there anyway, to find teenagers running the place and thought it was funny that they hadn't taken a phone call for 35 minutes because my call was still on hold. Not even a sorry. Kitchen seemed in chaos too. Someone came in and was told he would have to wait an hour !!! Don't know where Jimmy or his wife was but they would be appalled if they had seen the hopelessness of it all !!!

What can I say? :-Ordered - Mixed Hor D'oeuvres and Singapore VermicelliWell, the Satay was so think it looked like it had been steam rollered said Hubby and there was no sauce for it.The Prawn Toast was greasyThe Spring Rolls were barely cooked and had a weird after tasteThere were no bones in the Ribs just a lot of fatThe Seaweed was OKish but had a tad too high salt to sugar ratioThe Vermicelli was darker than normal, had a good spice to it but contained hardly any prawns and there were pieces of "pink slime" said Hubby that certainly weren't pork or chicken. Spam maybe? Either way even the cat didn't eat it. It wasn't the spice that put him off because his favourite dishes are my hot chilli con carne or chicken curry. Oh, and then there was the little tub of rocket fuel I called it. A sticky bright pinkish red clear sauce type thing. I was dubious to try it but as I will give anything a go, I did. Oops. I only dipped the end of the little only just cooked spring roll in and it almost took the back of my throat off. It certainly caught my breath, like neat alcohol. If anyone can shed light on what that sauce is please let me know. In the meantime I will use it to light the fire.

Easy to find despite not being local to the area. 5 Star food rating which is great to see. Very friendly welcome as we walked up to the counter. Our order was taken easily and it’s cash only for food at the moment. Our food when we received it was hot, tasty and very filling. We ate it back in our camp site with a few cold beers to wash it down nicely. Highly recommended food outlet.

Food is pretty good but hard to get! When they advertise as closing at 22.00 they mean closing at 22.00. I.e. dont bother ordering by phone after 21.45 or turning up at 21.50 as they wont answer the phone and the chefs are already cleaning up. As for mid week they will close at 21.00 if they feel like it. Disappointing they don't put customers first (they don't get it)

We were a bit dubious when our son suggested a Chinese takeaway but having had I were impressed by the taste as well as the value for money. The beef with black bean says was great. Everyone enjoyed their food. Thoroughly recommend it

Had a takeaway from here for my birthday when staying at whitemead forest. Huge portion sizes and good quality. Parked in the co-op and walked up and round the corner. Had starter selection, chicken fried rice, Singapore chow mein and chicken balls, would recommend all.

Excellent food and service (cash only)

spent £32 on a selection of dishes, my husband described as road kill!, chicken chow mein had not one scrap of chicken or onions in it , just noodles. that was it ! fillet steak with onions and ginger was so bad even our animals walked away from it ! it was slightyl jellified like the appearnace of dog meat , horrible. the rest was in watery sauces with not much flavour, gloopy lumps in the sauce like wall paper paste. one dish was falvoured with cake spice, it was suposed to be chinese chicken curry ... tasted like rice pudding... vile... really inedable..never again will i visit this place. staff were nice tho ! but we didnt eat them or the food . expensive bin filler .

Have just had a takeaway from here after looking at reviews here on trip advisor. Very disappointed. Ordered the chicken and cashew nuts, beef chowmein and egg fried rice and have to say it's was very bland, didn't taste of anything. This was our first time trying this take away, maybe we went on a bad evening but we won't be trying here again soon, will see what other take aways have to offer.

Visited for the first time after ordering via telephone - the food was ready promptly and as promised. The takeaway looks very clean and installs confidence for prospective customers. We ordered vegetarian and chicken dishes, both were fair enough and reflected most reviews. For us a downside was that we were overcharged.

I enjoyed my food but I ordered crispy tofu which should have been put in a paper bag to keep is crispy but as it was included with the noodles by the time I got home it was no longer crispy.

Always love a jimmys curry on a Friday and this one didn't disappoint. We had Beef curry, egg fried rice and chips. The portions are generous and we find that you can get away with this amount of food for two. The curry is freshly cooked and the ingredients are tasty. I am also amazed by how quickly the food comes out. I would recommend visiting jimmys on a Friday night. Occasionally we have the Crispy beef with chilli, this is also lush.

Stayed at Whitemeads (in Parkend) and were looking for a Chinese takeaway in the area. The ones we passed on various day-trips either had indifferent reviews or no reviews but we chanced on a good review for Jimmy's Kitchen and went with it.
