Even a bad Chinese is a good Chinese, but not in this case, genuinely inedible

Came here on tuesday evening. Absolutely disgusting. The chips were full of GRIT again. This is the second time it's happened. Do you wash your potatoes before frying them? Also no fresh salad, extremely disappointed. Will never return. Dont waste your money!!! Also, Ordered a Chinese from here and it was inedible. Cardboard like. I have left the contents in the container and I will be asking for my money back. Terrible food.

Good batter and Chinese always nice

My favourite Chinese takeaway in Cinderford. The food is always delicious. They do other food too such as battered sausage and Pies which is great when someone doesn't want chinese food.

Bought Vegetable Curry with chips but there's no way that was curry it was bamboo shoots noodles chow mein and juice Yuk Yuk with chips Now I've got indigestion Gosh I'd forgotten my last experience here! Went and had fu jung it had no taste was chewy and seemed old like it had been frozen a long time then microwaved up

Wouldn't recommend. Very dry, small portions. Partner found a piece of cloth ir baby wipe in her chow mein

Just really bad food greasy over powerd and very far from fresh cooked food,and then there is the price ,bad food, bad price ,bad experience, never again!!

Brilliant every time, we only go here or the Fork n' Spoon, wouldn't trust any other Chinese's in Cinderford.

Our regular Cinese takeaway, they have loads of choice and everything I have had has been good. Nice people too.

I love the Chinese side of the business but sometimes the chips can taste old like they have been there most of the night. Really wish they sold chip shop curry sauce

We were staying at Bracelands campsite nearby and needed an emergency takeaway on a Saturday night. The service was very quick, the food was spot on, really fresh and tasty. Salt and chilli ribs highly recommended. Also they have a 5 star food hygiene rating, which I checked on the official website, rare for a Chinese takeaway!

Asked and asked even pleaded fan up to date menu only keep being told it's on its way, the menu on line is so out of date the prices don't talky at all. After 18 years of custom starting to get fed up of being fobbed off!

Honestly absolutely frustrated with this place. Only so many chineses in the area that are open so late so typically over the last little while it's been our area of choice, but the last few times as of recent, while getting the following items: Duck chow mein, spring rolls and chips, it has resulted in my girlfriend vomiting and extremely sick.

We had Chinese - it was just awful - a couple of spoonfuls and it went in the bin

Large portion of chips was £3 and the same size as a small anywhere else. Complete rip off. Get two star because despite there being hardly any of them they tasted ok. Wouldn't go back though

Absloute amazaed how the price for curry sauce and chips can go up £2 in two weeks 2 x curry sauce and chips 1 week march £8.60 1 week later same order£9:80 And today same order £10:80 17/3/2013 Any idea ask staff all they day is boss lady put prices up

Worst Take Away Pizza Ever. I had a Mexican chilli, and the pizza was quite frankly awful. It was a cheap frozen base, which was hard and crunchy, not soft and chewy, the toppings were cheap and flavourless and the cheese was like rubber. Considering it was nearly £12 it was far from value for money or at all. This is the worst take away pizza I have ever had, and possibly one of the worst I have ever had including some very cheap supermarket ones.

Not a pleasant experience at all. Pancake rolls were very greasy, and the vegetable sweet and sour was a weird pink colour and so strange tasting it was inedible. Sorry to say I wouldn't recommend.

After 4 years of using this place without a complaint I cannot believe how arrogant and rude the man was on the phone to me, also the curry sauce was watery and a disgrace. I will not be using them again

We had the A1 Special curry set meal and a duck, cashew nuts and oyster sauce meal. The set meal was so enjoyable and filling that I was fully satisfied and I haven't tried the duck meal yet. I will have it for lunch, I expect. The sweet and sour chicken was just immensely tasty. The chicken in the curry was succulent, the sauce, just right. The egg fried rice was perfectly cooked with no residual oil. The food arrived bang on time; it was steaming hot and the delivery driver was extremely pleasant and didn't stand there waiting for a tip, like some do. We gave him one, naturally. Best takeaway meal either of us have yet had. Thank you.

I went here on the 19/04/22, and haven’t been for a while, as the last time I was there there was a very rude lad working there, shorter than the other guys which are always very polite, but this one who has been there a while now is very abrupt, not very friendly and certainly not a people person, and his telephone manner also, really bad!!practically throwing your change at you, And he is front of house so to speak! Well last night I was being lazy and rather than walk up the hill to the other places to eat, I decided to have a look to see whether it had changed or not, well, the quick answer to that was no, the same lad on the front counter, frowning at every customer that comes through the door as if to say what are you doing here, lol, then grunting at them as they order, then groaning at the phone customers, so I ordered my food in the same vane and he didn’t even batter an eyelid, lol, although I regretted it at 4am, as I was violently sick out of both ends!! Was it the food? Don’t know? I can’t prove it, obviously! But something isn’t right there at the moment!

I ordered the chicken curry with fried rice chicken balls and pancake rolls. I can’t express enough how horrible this meal was. The curry was watery and lacked flavour. The chicken in the curry sauce was dry and salty, to get the chicken to be dry in a sauce is an achievement not to be proud of. The chicken balls, were way to much dough that just soaked up fat. The pancake rolls didn’t have anything inside them! I feel sorry for the people of Cinderford. This place is horrific! Food isn’t that hard to get right. This Chinese Takeaway has given up on any kind of cooking ability.

Ordered Food to be delivered to a different address and dident receive it at all ! Apparently the food was left at our home address on the door step ! We dident get it but they still took the money from my card. No apology and no refund ! Not Good as we have been customers for a long time

We had a takeaway of Chilli Beef and Veg chow mein. Our usual Chinese takeaway was not available. So begrudgingly ordered from Magic Wok. Oh my! Absolutely delicious meal. Usually eating a takeaway we struggle to finish it because it looses the appeal through the meal. This particular selection was beyond any Chinese meal we had ever eaten. Fantastic! We ordered again a few days later and it didn't disappoint. The quality of the chilli beef was A1. You can actually taste the chilli! Outstanding work people, thank you very much!

The Chinese from here is super tasty and their chips and fab too! Their delivery cost is very reasonable and food always turns up hot, the staff are really friendly too.

BBQ spare ribs were inedible, there was virtually no meat on the ribs and half of them were just white gristle! Come on magic wok, you can do better!

Very disappointed had 3 chicken curry and boiled rice.as could not eat the chicken it was to hard and cold .So told to take it back so had 3 mushrooms curries and they was cold mushrooms not cook very sorry will no be coming back .

Had 3 meals from here had to take back was unable to eat chicken really hard over cooked took all 3 meals back and exchanged for 3 others and they were worse than the first lot wont be going back

I visit the Magic Wok on a regular basis, and most of the time get a great takeaway, but there are the odd occasion when it is not up to their usual standard, having said that I would still recommend a visit, because compared to some other Chinese takeaways they are good value for your money.

Had a fish lunch from here, grabbed a menu as they also do chinese dishes. FIsh and chips was amazing, nice crisp batter, freshly cooked chips. Chinese food was fair too (Yes I know I am too lazy to cook, but I was on holiday) Doesn't look much from the outside, but still a safe take away on both fronts.

The food is hit and miss, some days it is fantastic, others it's mediocre. My main issue is the staff tend to mess up my order, I have a a bit of a thick accent so it may be my fault!

Not happy, people very nice but king prawn and mushrooms was cold and no juice. King prawn and black been sauce was warm not hot. How ever the soup was very hot. Will think twice before going back.

Shocking shoddy cheap terrible tasteless food £9.95 for a pizza which I'm sure was a pre made base with reformed ham and at most 4 slices of pepperoni so bad I reverted to eating the box which still had more flavour then the pizza itself...... magic wok just like magic it's a fraud and an illusion

This is my go to takeaway and the food is usually pretty good. Only complaint is that I've had items forgotten for deliveries on a couple of occasions but on the whole really good Chinese food

We have been using this takeaway for nearly 10 years and can honestly say that they are one of if not the best takeaways in the area! Food is good, reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly and welcoming! Also a plus side is they deliver and usually within about 15-20mins! Top notch.

I'm from Malaysia and last week I went to visit Forest of Dean, I happened to come across a takeaway in Cinderford. Went it there and I was surprised the owner and the receptionist is Malaysia. They are very friendly and the food is great!! I ordered Mee Goreng as well as fish&chips. Batter of the fish is crispy and the chips is perfectly cooked!The taste of the Mee Goreng has no different from Malaysia, homesick being fixed! Thank you very much for such a good meal and make me feel like home.

I'm a big guy and enjoy my food. Theres very little that I can't eat but this was one of those times. I don't mean to be rude but it was inedible which is a shame because there's not a lot of choice in cinderford.

A typical Chinese takeaway plus fish & chips and pizza. There is some parking outside the shop but most people park opposite and cross the road.

Until a few months ago, the magic wok was very good. Nice food, friendly service and reasonably priced. However.. The last few times I've been have left me wondering whether I should bother anymore? The food is still nice, but the portion sizes have dwindled to the point where I am only just getting half a container of the main course. Sorry guys, but something has to change very quickly or I will definitely not be returning!

I have had food here before, delivered actually and this was pretty much inedible. I went back and complained it was that bad. I do hope they have upped their standards, Safe to say, I will not return.

Oder duck with orange and received pineapple and duck. When a complained that said the orange was on top!. and it was cold.

Tenemos sólo utilizamos el Magic Wok por primera vez. Todos tuvimos algo de pescado y patatas fritas que normalmente no tienen durante el día, pero después nos trasladamos pensamos que lo darnos un capricho, bien Magic wok seguramente impresionado mi familia! Las raciones son muy buenos y como para el pescado? Bien es deliciosa la cantidad justa de pasta cocinada crujiente y las patatas fritas eran nada encantador grasienta sobre ellos! No está mal por lo que esperar un poco, pero todo es fresco y no ha sentado en la más cálida para horas!
